All people lie. Do you agree?

Hell yeah everyone lies. I hate liars.

My boyfriend constantly says things that aren't true... he'll make promises of spending time with me and go back on his word... Say he's going somewhere and i find out later he was somewhere else- says he's too tired to spend time with anyone yet not too tired to do things with someone else.

The only truth is in peoples' actions. Watch what they do, not what they say.

My actions towards him now are dismissive. Hopefully that tells him the truth of what is going on...

There are also lies of omission. I'm guilty of those in 2 cases. I admit it. And i feel badly.... but i just can't set the situation right yet. :( (This is not on SS, this is to do with 2 friends of mine offline/on FB) i've been omitting this so long i don't know how to tell my 2 friends... and i feel bad as i am a very honest person....

Good question.
In the case of my bf, he promises to spend time with me, then doesn't and lies about his reasons.
So i guess it's not the broken promise that the lie, the lie is a part of the whole situation...

Absolutely. It's a massive lie that the people who run this world have been keeping up for centuries. People who are unhappy have opened their eyes and realized this whole thing is a lie. Human beings lie to others and to themselves because lying allows you to cope with the harsh realities of life. When the lies and copes run out, you lose your will to live. You realize that the la la fantasy lie about everything being perfect and wonderful is false. If you don't have money, looks, or status, you will suffer in life. Humans are attracted to good-looking, high status people. All relationships (family, friend, romantic) are a transaction and trade of resources. True love doesn't exist and no one loves anyone unconditionally. Human beings are selfish, superficial, shallow, and greedy. No denying it

I was gonna make a thread on exactly this topic, that unconditional love literally does not exist, that everyone who thinks otherwise is lying to themselves, but really you put my thoughts exactly into far more eloquent writing than I could ever muster

Life in society is like a theater play, people embody characters, some do it very well, others are just not good at it. At the end of the day, you're alone, no matter what you do. It's just a game, there are winners, there are losers, you're dealt good cards from the start and it helps or you're not, but you can still win the hand if you're ready to play. I'm a loser in this, I don't why is that, it's built into me and I can't seem to be able to trump my self defeating instincts.
