I've seen 12ga shotguns selling for less than $200 US in sale flyers I receive at home.

Shotguns are good but messy (even a 20g with buck shot would be fine)
Handguns (my rec) - 9mm and up. I recommend hollowpoint rounds due to the fragmentation. IE it'd scramble organs after it goes and also ensures that nothing stray goes into a wall, hits a bystander, etc.

when it comes to a shotgun at point blank range it does not matter the ammo. bird shot will blow your head off just as well as a slug or buckshot.

do all these slug and 00 buckshot penetrate the skull from the side of the head at point blank rage , a contact shot, touching the head then firing?

it will all work so long as you get the brain in the line of fire. that part is critical.

Yep, agreed. Bird shot would do the trick, no need to over complicate things.

i used to reload all my shotgun shells for hunting. all your shot is stored in a wad cup. it does not begin to exit out of the cup until several yards downrange. this in effect will make every kind of shot like a slug at close range bc it will still be inside the cup.
