If you ever cut, be careful. There is chance bacteria might enter your bloodstream. THat condition is called sepsis (blood poisoning) and it is one of the worst ways of dying.

Thanks! I made sure to clean the knife properly and I'm pretty sure I won't cut that deep since I'm still scared....(・–・;)ゞ

Well, yeah. I have had desire for self harm as well, but I am very sensitive to pain. Even needles scares me off.

Same here but I've been thinking about it for too long and too much the most I've done was heating up a lighter then pressing the heated metal on my thigh but that hurts a lot....idk what I was thinking....kinda dumb now that I think about it(─.─||)

Hey. I have a feeling you are new to self-harm? Have you heard of other tactis to use instead, like Skillz? I don't have a link right now. Others who have SH experience might know.

You were probably feeling a strong urge to find temporary relief. In those states, SH can feel like a reasonable choice. Please don't feel dumb because of it :)

I am new to it, also no I haven't heard of Skillz??? What's that??? Also thanks but it was kinda dumb to use a lighter instead of the knife cause I was too scared....the lighter was more painful I think the knife would've been less painful, yeah, I'm not the sharpest as you can see....(^~^;)ゞ

Something like this. In Germany, they are called "Skills", not sure what the proper English term is:

One needs to usually try a few and see which ones work best. Since you seem to be under a lot of tension, the ones with sensory input might work best. If pharmacies are still open, you could also try to get ammonia capsules which make you cough a lot, to "kick you out" of the tension.

I started off with smaller blades, and realised they didnt hurt much (sometimes i didnt feel anything!)
when i felt like my pain tolerance had raised, i moved on to larger items.
if you dont have access to smaller blades, maybe grab a rag or anything else to squeeze. some people squeeze things when in pain since it distracts you from the pain

If you don't want the pain then I would suggest against self-harming since it doesn't seem to be really what you want. If it's for visual purposes you could also try things like drawing on yourself (maybe with a scratchy pen so it's still uncomfortable), using an ice cube with red food dye, etc.

edit: not sure if this thought process applies to you but your pain isn't any less real for not self-harming, that shouldn't be used as some kind of milestone or achievement in mental illness.

Best advice for self harm? Don't. But, since no one else can stop you but yourself.. Clean your blades and wounds regularly, also stay clear from main blood vessels. There's no tip to lessen the pain or "get over it", you just get used to it in time. Stay safe xoxo

I just tried the rubber band thing and put the knife away from me, thanks for the help! ( ̄︶ ̄)

I don't have any small blades which was why I was so scared....but next time I feel like doing it really badly I'll just go and buy a small blade it might also help make me think if I wanna go through with it again. Thanks for the tip! (*^____^*)

I'll try using a pen next time, thanks for helping! (∩_∩)
