Phenobarbital would be an exception as barbiturates are listed in the PPH. Barbiturates of all types are much more reliable.

It wouldn't be as reliable as nembutal (pentobarbital), but is certainly far more reliable than the 2-6% figures mentioned in this thread.

Just be sure to adjust for dosage accordingly.
Oh Learned One!

What's your take on thiopental? Based on the limited literature on it, the recommended dose is pretty much the same as Pentobarbital, but there was someone here who survived almost 20g of it taken orally.

Is it not as reliable as Pentobarbital? My package is en route and oral ingestion is pretty much the only way I can take it. Thoughts?

Yes, thiopental is actually discussed in the PPH as an effective replacement for pentobarbital. 20g is also the recommended dose.

Just be sure to use a barbiturate test kit or take a "test dose" of a recreational amount beforehand (e.g., 500mg) to ensure it actually contains thiopental. Illicit drug markets can be hit or miss.

IV is recommended if possible but oral will work if combined with an anti-emetic such as metoclopramide to prevent vomiting.

My immediate "hunch"/question pertaining why that user may have failed with 20g is the quality/purity of their thiopental. At the end of the day it's a bit of a mystery, though and there seems to always be reports if failure on this site even with the most reliable methods. The only 99.99% reliable methods are medically assisted.

Hope this helps ❤️

Thanks for the response! Well, I'm lucky to not have to resort to illicit drug markets (bought it from a wholesaler under the guise that I'll buy in bulk in the future if the "sample" is approved) but I plan on doing a recreational dose anyway, just to be sure.

Yep, barbiturates used to be prescribed for sleep but now they have alternatives like benzodiazepines which are near-impossoble to die from so barbiturates aren't prescribed anymore.

Most drugs are now manufactured with preventing suicide in mind
Late to the show here but how I wish I were born in times where barbiturates were still handed out by the doctor for sleep.

I've got a question.

I understand cutting is dangerous and has a low success rate. How would you rate death by blood loss through an intravenous catheter needle together with blood thinners? It's a slow drip but causes continuous blood loss and prevents blood clotting in my experience.

Happy to be corrected by the medical members on board but I believe that's a much higher chance of success so long as you have access to the correct equipment, know what you're doing and are able to properly overcome the blood's natural instinct to clot. A couple of years ago they had to abort my blood donation because it suddenly clotted halfway through. I've been donating on and off for twenty years and that was the first time that had ever happened!

I remember only one case of such a method on this forum, and it seems that he was successful with it. It started as self-harm or test, and he reported daily.

I see. If you happen to find the thread, could you link it to me please?

I've attempted this method before (also because I was familiar with blood donations). SI kicked in when I felt myself getting colder and slowly slipping from consciousness, so I removed the needle. There was no evidence or big scarring left afterwards, which was why I thought of it at first.

Was only worried my elbows could slip inwards, restricting blood flow and stopping it midthrough.

I've found his thread. It seems like he failed because his family went home from a trip and "rescued" him. Later he CTB by SN.

Honestly,

I have no clue since I've never heard anyone do this before and I don't believe there is any research on it.

It's a total shot in the dark. Significant medical experience would be a must for anyone trying such a novel method, I would say.

I'm worried about waking up and ending up in the hospital with brain damage. If it is 1% effective then what is the point.

Regarding the user who mentioned thiopental, is that an easier barbiturate to get ahold of than pentobarbital? In Canada it seems it doesn't even exist. What barbiturates are actually realistic to potentially get (from the DNM, street etc.)?

Thiopental is the only barbiturate I've seen around nowadays. I know of users in India who have accessed it. I can't mention any sources but it's possible to find.

You can effectively dose it the same way as pentobarbital according to the PPH. Just be sure to get a barbiturate test kit. E.g., the one sold by Exit International.

Pentobarbital is almost ubiquitously impossible to access unless you intend to take a flight to Latin America and do some very shot-in-the-dark investigative searching at pharmacies.
