12 hour or 24 hour fast?

What's better for SN? To fast for 12 hours or 24 hours? I wonder if 24 hours is like "too much" and would increase chances of throwing up? Or is the longer the better? I wonder if there's a sweet spot, any information at all on this? On how many hours is perfect for fasting before taking SN?
