You can't clear your history in life

Yes, I think I can relate. My Mum died at 40 (I was 3.) She loved life and then it was taken from her. For me, it just seems so cruel. Sometimes I used to go to the places where there had been pictures taken of her. It was so strange to think she had been standing right there. The place hadn't changed but she's gone forever. I've always kind of felt that death makes a mockery of life. I suppose it's done me a favour in the end because I don't find my life meaningful- hopefully it will make it easier to leave it.

Strange though because my Dad thinks just the opposite- that death only makes life all the more precious. Guess it's the glass half empty/ glass half full point of view. You're right though- I suppose the only really meaningful pursuit is happiness- if you can work out how to get it.

The truth is that whatever we experienced in life and how we viewed life could never really matter to us at the end of the day. It's our fate to cease to exist and to be free from everything and we likely eventually won't even exist in the memories of the living. This is simply inevitable and the thought of this existence permanently ending is the only thing that comforts me. To me of course it's best to never exist at all, as the existence of life is so pointless and unnecessary and those who never exist never have to suffer through this life just to die anyway.
