If you don't have a shotgun you could just use a handgun and shoot yourself backwards off a reasonably high building or cliff. Aim for the brain stem, etc, just barely balance on the edge and the bullet should push you off. Seems like a safe bet. The combined trauma surely would kill you, even of you land perfectly feet first.

I don't know what I'm talking about though, just something I've been thinking about.

To pull off what you want to combine, you'd have to jump and, while midair and mid fall, shoot yourself in the head. No gun outside of a cannon has the ability to blast you off a cliff much less 3 feet(1m). The force of a round hitting you is like getting punched, you get knocked over not back.

A truck is about what you'd need in surface area. Think a F-150 going 50-60 mph then sliding to the side to use the bed as a baseball bat off the cliff

What if you were really on the edge and would fall backwards anyway if you went limp?

Do you like rock candy? Because you're gonna eat a lot of it on the way down minus the candy. You'd have to be like on the edge to guarantee anything. It'd be easier and harder to retrieve on the edge of a bungee platform

I guess but you have to make sure you do fall that way. How can you can for sure you fall back that way?

You can't. It all depends on what nerves fire at that last moment. Rabbits and squirrels jump like 7 ft in the air when they get shot, sometimes they don't. You theoretically can get up and walk that shit off for a bit

I could see standing with one's back to the cliff and firing, hoping to fall backwards. But there's also the recoil of the gun to consider, that's going to affect balance as well depending on the weapon. Maybe the solution would be to stand at the edge, back to the cliff, one foot behind and dangling over the open air, lean back slightly, then fire.

I have the balance for none of this and am terrified of heights. Those who can't, teach.

Correction: there is a way to guarantee you go over far enough. You just need some crisco or other grease and steal a metal slide from a playground.

Something like this minus parachute. And you gotta take one to the dome in the process, per op parameters

OP said you could land on your feet though. It's his/her playground, I don't even know if the slide is allowed yet! :pfff:

I'm laughing way to hard at this. Kinda reminds me of futurama when they try to kill the professor with that complex machine lol

The biggest problem with this is shooting yourself unconscious, whether falling the gunshot or shooting mid-air, removes your ability to accurately land on your head, which defeats the entire purpose of jumping/falling. Best to do one individually. As soon as you do combinations, there will be issues, inconsistencies, or just impracticalities.

Overly complicated and a bullet is going to go through your head, not push you.

In theory, yes. But in practice, not really because when combining methods, there are more variables and complications to consider which may increase your chance of failure.

I fantasized about shooting myself off a bridge many times. I didnt know its not possible. Or is it? Theres only a narrow strip of concrete on the ledge and the railing is too tall to just slip to the other side
