Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

2 teen boys kill themselves over sextortion and blackmailing.

I was just wondering if this kind of thing drive a healthy human to suicide? Or do you think he had shaky emotional foundations to begin with?

It's a bit hard for me to imagine because I've never been in this situation. I don't know what I'd do if I was. But this feels to me like these boys were "predisposed" and emotionally fragile to begin with.

I wonder in general if isolated incidents push people over the edge? Or is it more like something that builds up progressively? I know that I'm not suicidal over one thing only, but over a combination of things.

also, asking this to more open minded members , is it okay for the family and friends of the victim to feel blameless in this situation? Shouldn't society at large question itself when a teen feels so deeply threatened by the idea of his D being out there that he kills himself? Doesn't it say a lot about how society treats victims? In this teens mind, he was the guilty one and everyone was going to punish him. In reality, he is a victim and the blackmailer should be the one shamed. But we live in the kind of world where people would talk shit about the victim and lose respect for him and humiliate him over the D pic (even if on the surface they act polite and compassionate).

I think something is seriously wrong with society and I find it terrifying and disturbing that this aspect of the problem is never brought up by anyone when a tragedy like this happens.

I'd personally just own it and tell people i'm a pornstar if confronted about it lol. Then send them links of gay Astolfo cosplay porn claiming it to be my work, the odds of anyone actually looking at it, let alone noticing it's someone else being the big low.

Unfortunate. I think maybe just a shock from the situation they found themselves in. As an adult it doesn't seem that terrifying to me to have some nudes out there but for a teenager, it probably is a lot bigger deal. Those people who do these kinds of things, extorting teens or others like this, should be brought to justice. But those scammers might be anywhere in the world.

I don't have any sexual appeal to anyone so I don't see how that would happen.

With kids it's often not shaky foundations but because they have never had big adversity and they aren't prepared for it. A read about a very healthy boy with a very loving family, about age ten, who committed suicide a few months into the pandemic because he missed the activities with his friends and the sudden isolation from them was too much for him. Parents really need to talk to kids about serious issues like this when they are quite young to make sure they know to turn to them if they ever start to feel really bad and/or isolated.

I think it depends on the culture like in our culture it's huge if someone sees those pictures so I would kill myself without even thinking it

Like the Amanda Todd case, I can see why someone would CTB over something like this. People will harass you, call you a whore, make you feel like less than the ground you walk on. It's almost impossible for those images to disappear and it will haunt them for the rest of their life.

Society is to blame, like you said. Why do we treat people so poorly over sending (consensual) nudes or having sexual urges? It's something already so normalized yet when someone gets caught doing it, we shame them. It's so sickening that people won't even feel a smidge of sympathy even for children that are victims of this UNTIL the moment they commit suicide. 😟 I had to deal with this recently with one of my young cousins. Fucked my head up to see the adults in my family blame her instead of the people that blackmailed her.
