So if I'm going to do full suspension hanging, from an 8.5 foot drop because that would be enough to snap my neck, would a 1 inch thick manila rope with a bowline knot around a solid tree branch and a slipknot around my neck support my weight?
if you're trying to snap your neck it's called a long drop not full suspension. if it's 1 inch thick (where did you even get this?) it works probably but how do you plan to tie it
I'm not sure if it will snap your neck, but 1 inch thick rope should be strong enough. I'm not an expert on hanging, but i've heard that a snuggle hitch is much better for tying the end of the rope to the tree
Oh, I don't have the rope yet. I just read the Geo Stone guide and it said the rope should be at least an inch thick, I didn't take into account that home depot might not sell a rope that thick. I'll look at the snuggle hitch, ty
