It looks like craft store rope. NO. That stuff only looks like rope. It has no real strength.
If you have a some funds, get 1/2 inch double braided dock line in whatever length you need. It is very strong and feels nice too!

that looks to be very uncomfortable, try looking for a cotton rope 10/12mm- it will be the most comfortable. Just make sure it says what the "breaking strength" is.Similar threads
