You're best placed to answer that. Nobody here knows how your family think.

I think it would be very painful either way for them. With suicide there is always them wondering why you did that. They could possibly blame themselves but either way parents losing their child isn't good and it will be deeply painful for them. I worry about if I am ever successful with exiting, my daughter. I don't want her to blame herself and I think for her mentally, it could really mess her up also. It sucks we want an exit but yet could really mess our loved ones up too. Who knows, it could cause one of them to want to commit suicide themselves.

Yes I don't want them to think it's their fault...

Speaking as someone who had a family member CTB, I'd rather know what really happened. It's still painful but it allows you to process what happened and cope. It'd be a lot harder to grieve if you were looking for a murderer that didn't exist, because you'd never be able to find them and feel that justice was served. There's always be that little unresolved thing itching at you. That's just my own thoughts though, I don't know your family or situation.

The problem is they would forever be looking for the "murderer" which may cause more harm than good

It will hurt either way, but I understand why you're asking this question. With being murdered, it was just fate but Suicide is completely different. Since it's a conscious choice that you're making, they will wonder if they were terrible siblings /parents and wonder why did you made that decision? Why was your life so terrible?Things like that.

It's my opinion that they will feel better in the case of murder cause they at least won't blame themselves.

Yeah you right. They'll probably forever look for a murderer that does not exist.

It would be impossible to fake it
I don't think it'd make them feel bettel In the end, but they would know the situation you're in. I suppose if you have stable housing and good support network they'd feel like you should have worked on the problems in your life, not choose to ctb.

I wouldn't do that, it wouldn't work
Where I live there's a guy who ctb with partial hanging. His family is convinced he got murdered. It seems they are not grieving but having something to fight for. Although I agree It would not be nice to play a fool game with your family
