  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

One problem with immortality is- what happens after the heat death of the universe? Are you just going to float around in cold dead space forever? Try to "swim" about hoping to find another universe?

Swimming around to the sound of "I am the highway"

Exactly. It's actually conceptually impossible.

It would be good to have infinite time to solve any problem you want to solve -- provided there's actually a way for you to solve it.

Would MY life be good without death? NO, it would be a miserable, tortuous hell i couldn't escape from.
I'm really thankfull for having a way to end all of this.

It would eventually be hell on earth for anyone regardless of how good your life is. Thank god for death. If I were cruel I would wish everlasting life on my enemies.

imagine the burn out of life every single day for eternity! I think death is what actually makes life, despite having a shitty life I am glad I have experienced consciousness/reality/being alive. However, I also don't want to continue experiencing.

Funny question for SS members, :haha: If I was to have a wonderful experience, oh yes but thank god we all get to escape our tortured existence one day, although prison sentences would probably reflect what evil people deserve life means life and some evil bastards deserve eternity behind bars.

If death was not a part of our life, life itself would be a torture. Everlasting torture.
Imagine, you cannot CTB, dictators rule your country eternally, artificial intelligence uses us as slaves.
Death sometimes is a a good part of our lives. It saves us from the total devastation, tyranny and pain.

No, unless all existing problems are gone (philosophically and logically speaking), however, that is simply not reality, and another problem with living forever (or being immortal) is 'boredom', even for those who have lived a long life and done just about every conceivable milestone or thing on their bucket list, they still experience boredom, meaning they have no other meaning or goal to strive for anymore.

Totally agree with that. I'm against the death penalty for two reasons. One, they might execute someone innocent, which is unforgivable, and two, death is so much, much, much easier on the perpetrator. That's so wrong. Even if I wasn't ctb I'd ask for the death penalty, why waste one's life in a penitentiary. Punishment is being stuck in the same situation.
