Worried about SN storage

My SN did not come in a bag as I expected but in a small meds bottle (sort of). I did not open it yet and the cap looks tight enough, however I've seen people saying that if it was opened or got in contact with air it will slowly lose it's purity?
Also I found a thread from Quarky00 (SN FAQ - Storage, Recovery, Death) that states:

• It does not oxidize with oxygen , only with water (that solution is potent)
• Frequent exposure will damage it, but over time. Occasional won't.

Sorry for the thread, I need to know for sure. If that's the case then I'd have to do it soon.

The issue with opening containers is frequently brought up which causes me great paranoia. I have been led to believe it can be opened on occasion as long as it is otherwise closed and kept in a dry area. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

The question is, why would you need to open it occasionaly? Keep it closed until you need it. If you need to test the purity open it only once for a sample.
