I hate how we have to work because if we don't, we can't feed ourselves and we'd soon be homeless and starve to death. What kind of cruel joke did my parents brought me into??? Grow up, study, roll the dice and hoping you'd be lucky to land a job that you can't just leave? Because doing so is like depriving yourself of oxygen, IT'S THAT VITAL AND DEPRESSING, we don't want to continue slaving our time and effort away, but we can't just quit. If you go another route and start a business, well be prepared to put your hopes down because you got a lot of competitors, managing a ton of load by yourself, and making sure you don't go bust, which is equivalent to a death sentence if you don't have a backup plan and savings.

I'm going to reach a breaking point soon that I'm not even gonna make efforts anymore to work and earn income, be a NEET, let my life juice (aka savings) slowly run out as I only invest my time in suicide kits and enjoying the best but simple leisure activities I can enjoy. The time's come, and I don't have to work anymore. Because I won't be of any use 6 feet under the ground :)

Yeah, sometimes I feel this too... The life model set out for the average human being is incredibly constraining. You essentially indenture yourself into modern slavery, with a veneer of free choice added to it so that you can feel better about yourself.
This is real. They don't want people to notice it, and there's a lot of shit burying it. The only saving grace is that you can break out of it. How? With wealth. So, ambition can help you, but only if you can somehow rise above the working class.
No one ever seems to question how they can't really survive without doing as they are expected and told. 8 hours of labor, 8 hours of freedom, 8 hours of sleep.

I post about this a lot because it's why I'm here. My company is being sold. They promised it wouldn't. Long story, but it was never supposed to sell and it did and eventually we will all be out of jobs. And the current job market is horrifically awful so we're all screwed.
It wasn't always like this. This level of greed seen now was not always like this. It wasn't this widespread. Private equity now just wants to buy up everything and all they do is squeeze money. Quality of product goes down. Layoffs happen. Anything for more money so they can invest or buy more places. It's awful. It's every aspect of our lives now and we don't even realize it.
It wasn't like this even 25 years ago.

It's really awful what the world has become

Even though I hate those greedy corpos, I do understand that it's not just them to take the blame, but I think it's also the governments all around the globe, who are supposed to control and regulate economic growth in order for companies to give out higher salaries whilst not exhausting their funds for projects or allocations. The rising inflation caused and exacerbated by bad current situations do impact them in a way that they adjust just to be on the market and survive, through cutting a lot of costs which unfortunately includes compensation to their low-end employees.

As for greed, either it's due to response to today's economic conditions, or they just forget being humanitarian and instead focused on just maximizing profits and pleasing shareholders, or actually both, compromising quality of products and employee pay. I do agree the past isn't like this, and it's such a big shame that the world in general is going downhill and unsustainable for future generations to come.

I almost forgot about advanced technologies and AI... sigh. How ironic humanity's innovations are turning against us.

I refuse to work too, and even if I recovered enough from my psychological issues, I'd probably still ctb because of it. I simply can't see myself adapting to dedicate 8 fucking hours of the day (plus commute time) to something I don't want to do.
Like Bartleby said, I'd prefer not to.

I've worked 10 months, I still hate working as much as I used to. Not only it's not worth it, this feeling doesn't change.

It's hard not to agree with this. Not to mention how even unpaid sick days are restricted so much. I've had to call out twice in less than a week because I couldn't get out of bed. Now when I go back tomorrow I have to worry about job security.
Makes the urge to ctb so much stronger

"Good nature is, of all moral qualities, the one that the world needs most, and good nature is the result of ease and security, not of a life of arduous struggle. Modern methods of production have given us the possibility of ease and security for all; we have chosen, instead, to have overwork for some and starvation for the others." – Bertrand Russell
