Discussion Will tying a rope around my neck very tightly kill me?

I know methods like this are discussed here. I also know it is generally better if you use an anchor point/hanging but I don't really have a good anchor point. I think the method I'm referring to in the title would be considered ligature strangulation? but I'm getting a bit confused about the names and logistics of all these methods since they work in a similar way I think? I'm not sure if this makes sense. I'm struggling a lot. I'm so tired of all of the pain and misery and suffering. I just want an end to it all. I just want relief and peace. I can't live like this.

I'm wondering what things I should consider with this method and if I should even consider it. Maybe if I add a plastic bag over my head it will increase my chances of dying?

I don't think that would work. Probably just give you a brutal headache. A plastic bag would just send your SI into overdrive. I've actually tried what you're asking about, plastic bag and no plastic bag neither did anything worth noting for me

Are you talking about just the plastic bag or about the ligature strangulation and plastic bag together?

Hmm okay thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. Do you know why it didn't work for you? I know ligature strangulation has worked as a method for others but it does seem like it could be difficult to pull off

I'm really bad at tying things so it could be just that simple. Otherwise, i'm not sure. I did have a super super close to succesful ctb attempt once because I had a perfect anchor point but, alas, I can't tie a knot to "save" my life

Yeah the knot thing scares me a bit because you have to be really fast with it. If I add enough pressure I think I can lose consciousness, I come very close to it but it's scares me and I stop. I fear I won't have enough time to tie the knot before I go unconscious which makes me wonder if it would even work. I guess I should probably just practice tying knots and get comfortable with that.

I think so yes kind of but without adding any padding to the carotid arteries, so I think just ligature strangulation. I've tried the night night method multiple times but I had some issues with it and I don't have the exact supplies mentioned. I might have to try again though because I might not have been adding enough pressure. I read there doesn't have to be very much weight/pressure (I think I read 3kg?) on the carotid arteries for someone to lose consciousness so I though as long as I tie the rope tight enough then it should work? But I fear there won't be enough time to properly tie a knot and/or the knot will come undone. I don't know which method would have the best chances of dying. I'm really trying my best to find a method that will work for me and I have pretty limited options but I desperately need to die. Things have gotten so much worse recently and I just can't handle anything. Do you think this could be a viable method?

Thank you for linking this post. It is the post I've read to get more information. There is a lot of info though and it overwhelms and confuses me a bit. I wonder when it comes down to it, is it just about tying something around one's neck tight enough to stop the brain from getting oxygen?
