Will surviving a heroin overdose cause brain damage?

the only method I feel comfortable won't leave me brain damaged is SN and even that isn't 100%. I would prefer dying as a drug addict (accidental overdose) than leave the stigma of suicide for my family to recover from.

If im overdosing in some rural area at night and someone discovers me and gets help, could I end up with brain damage due to the lack of oxygen getting to my brain? Or is it similar to SN in that I would survive unharmed?

In a circumstance where the overdose was extreme enough for you to stop breathing yet you still survived, the lack of oxygen could cause brain damage.

Yes. It can cause brain damage from hypoxia as well as delayed post-hypoxic leukoencephalopathy
