People say if someone really wanted to do it they'd do it. But will there always be an element of fear? If I'm scared does it mean I'm not ready?

I've fucked things up in all aspects of my life from being careless when depressed and not thinking I'll make it through. It's too late now to fix things and I want to go, but I'm scared still.

This is a tough question, and ultimately one you need to answer for yourself.

As humans, most of us are afraid of either death, or dying. Even those who have unequivocally given up on life find themselves hesitating in some way. Ask yourself what it is exactly you're afraid of. Then ask yourself why. Is it natural instinct? Or is it because deep down you know you're not quite ready yet? Death is a path we must all take, but it is a one way street. Even if you choose life now, you can always choose death later.

I imagine there's always some fear, but yeah, there's always SI we have to fight as people. There are ways to work around/with it, but the final decision on if you are ready or not is you.

Some level of fear is natural. It's programmed into who we are. I'd be more concerned if someone didn't have any fear around suicide and take that as a sign that they were acting irrationally and likely impulsively. Regardless, fear may also indicate on some level a genuine desire to cling on to life, and if that is the case, I would recommend striving to listen to it and hear what it has to say. But ultimately it's up to you alone to determine if you're "ready".

Suicide is very difficult after all as we are programmed to survive and also this existence is all we know, we cannot comprehend what it is like to not exist. I think it is normal to have fears. In my case, I fear the dying process and ctb failing in some way. It really is hard to let go of this life. I feel like only you know when the right time to leave, it is your life and your decision after all. I believe that it is a feeling deep down where you just know and you have no more doubts. I wish you the best in whatever happens.

I think there will always be an element of scariness about suicide, when you break it down you're effectively saying farewell prematurely to the only existence us humans have ever known. I know im scared.
