Method Will a goodbye thread expose me and get me tracked down?

If I post a goodbye thread is there a chance authorities might try to track me down and prevent me from attempting CTB? I'm worried because it might make my condition much worse.

No. They have to be able to get your ip address, and I doubt SaSu will give up that information, unless they are ordered by a court. Be sure not to put any personal info about yourself anywhere on this site for added safety.

Also it should be recognized that IP address =/= being fully identified. IP addresses only give the general location of somebody such as a town ,city or region. And even then, most people have dynamic IP addresses meaning their IP address changes occasionally.

I doubt it , Im in the UK, the 'authorities' can barely track themselves. depends if you post on sites you are known on?

I also have my tank and exit bag. Last Sunday I almost passed out but I took the bag off. It feels kind of peaceful but as the body is about to pass out, I felt like I had little ants all over my body. All I know is that it takes more than 4 deep breaths to pass out.

"Nitrogen and exit bag" - I got simliar kit together some years ago but chose helium method, then freaked out at how many variables were involved, leaking hood, falling etc then life took over and I re-evaluated. If there was an easy way I think I would take it.

I think the calm is normal because that stess of managing the practicalities & organisation is more than 'normals' realise & you now have an exit plan which gives a momentary sense of respite from the crap we feel.
Life still goes on & continues around us so, all issues will still remain.

Unfortunately, this is not entirely true - the IP address is tied to a specific ISP, and it can look up which user was assigned that IP at which point in time. It becomes a little more involved once they implement carrier grade NAT and provide the same IP addresses to several people, because then they will have to also save the port numbers as far as I know... So the only thing that may help are either TOR or VPN, but please do your own checking before trusting my rusty knowledge...

Another option that comes to mind for me is if you wanted to say farewell only to a closer circle of users, you could start a conversation with them. Then it will be private for as long as those members can be trusted.

Thanks for the information. Fighting SI is something I need to figure out now. They say in the PPH that loss of consciousness is almost immediate, I was hoping for two breaths, I'll need to be ready for more than that.

I highly doubt it, people do it all the time. I think it's important not to go in great detail as your method and when you're doing it. I wouldn't risk telling too much of my plan. Everyone leaves a digital prints whether it's via email or IP address. But a vague goodbye is simply a post.

Yeah sorry, my knowledge is a bit rusty too. It's not an issue I concern myself with considering I always use a VPN or Tor. I wonder if the IP we sign up with is stored somewhere here. I hope not but who knows.

Even if your info here is safe - i think in the future it will be a matter of time until you get tracked down.

There are specific papers on this site that are already about speech patterns and how to identify somebody based on those patterns with machine learning.
