  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Kurt Cobain killed himself and people started to say that Courtney Love sent someone to kill him and all that conspirations. Everyone knew he was depressive and he talked about killing himself in some interviews (there is a song called 'I hate myself and I want to die"). Same for Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. They talked about their depression in lot of interviews. Both killed themselves and people said they were murdered. Why can't they accept the fact that they took their own lives?

because they simply cannot understand that someone is in such a dark place, that taking their own life is their only option, People and society simply do not wish to believe its possible, as they want to think life is worth living and cannot imagine life taken too soon so lay the blame elsewere to hide their own failings at not being able to save a life

Maybe this applys mostly to rich and succsesful people. It's so shocking to work so hard and achieve that people deny suicide and jump to motives.

Internet conspiracy theorists have an opinion on everything. Most logical people understand that they killed themselves. I really feel sorry for their family's having to put up with accusations and people speculating on their loved ones death. Zelda Williams had to delete Twitter because people were trolling her over her Dad's death.

Most people can't handle the reality that everyone isn't happy or content with life like they are. So they do mental gymnastics to try to make sense of something that's depressing to them.

Sometimes people do kill other people and make it look like suicide. So people believe it because it's possible. And anything is better than imagining a person felt so hopeless that it gave them the courage to take their own life. It's a topic that scares normal people, for a good reason, it's really frightening to think that the people you care about might have death on their minds and may leave without telling a soul.

I'm reading Kurt Cobain's biography at the moment. He was never a happy person. They think he had Bipolar, but he was given the wrong meds as a child.
When you read his biography, I am relieved he ended his life. It really sounds painful to be Kurt Cobain. And also not that fun for anyone around him either.

I think it is because of the stigma towards suicide, as humans we are programmed to live and survive, it is how we have evolved. Suicide is seen as going against our nature as humans. Many people who haven't been suicidal themselves will never be able to comprehend what it is like to not want to be alive. It goes against many religious beliefs. People would rather accept another cause of death, as they don't want to face the reality that the person was suffering so much, they felt like they had no choice but to exit this world.
