• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I tried this method impulsively when I was 17 and desperate. I am underweight (anorexic) and my veins/arteries are pretty visible from the surface so I thought it would be easy to slit as I wouldn't have to cut that deep. I took some aspirin to promote bloodflow and bought the strongest OTC lidocaine cream to numb the area. IT IS NOT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS. The lidocaine didn't penetrate deep enough and I was still in so much pain. And even though I could see my veins pretty clearly the arteries are buried deep in your skin and I was basically sawing back and forth trying to get to them. I think I eventually nicked/pinched the artery because I suddenly felt my hand go cold and I got super lightheaded. I just gave up because it was so painful and blood was getting everywhere. This is probably one of the worst methods out there and even if it did work you'd leave a terrible mess for the next person to clean up.

Thank you for sharing this. When I was younger, out of desperation, I considered it but then- it was always going to be an unlikely method for me- seeing as I'm so squemish.

It did sound utterly horrendous. Did you cause any long- term damage to your hand? It sounds like you may have caused nerve damage.

I also had an attempt when I was 16 where I tried to do it with broken glass. It was probably my dumbest act and the one that caused the most trauma to my family.
