Why normal people want to live ?

Hi ! (First, I'm a newbie and a french guy so my English is probably bad be indulgent with me (^w^))

I'm sad not about myself but about the « normal » people, the ones who want to live...

Why ? I'll explain

The fact that life is meaningless is not a news for you guys and a lot of non-suicidal people knows that but for a unknown reason they don't want to leave this world

The "after system" is a good thing to see the life as an useless thing :

You born and after ?
You grow up as a kid then a teen then as an adult and after ?
You get a job and after ?
You find your future wife/husband
and after ?
You marry her/him and after ?
You've got a child and a second one and a third one and after ?
You watch them growing up with probably the same mental struggles than you and after ?
You "enjoy" your last years with you wife/husband in a trip around the world and after ?
Then you f*cking die.

And "normal" people is ok with that... My mom said that the meaning of her life was to watch her childs growing up I was like "wtf mom it's a shitty reason to live" and if the most of the people in the world think like that they all f*cked up and I still don't know why they find that as a good reason to live

So I wanted your thoughts bout this...

Because it's a biological imperative. Humans are animals after all, and we are biologically programmed to survive and procreate, creating in the mean time delusions about life in order to cope.

It's not a fact for everyone here. Being pro-choice does not automatically mean you do not value life.

Some people enjoy life with all of the ups and downs that come with it. Some people were not faced with impassable barriers.

You've taken me back : The only time I opened up to 3 mates was 3 years ago on New Year's Eve ... we somehow ended up back at a friends house and were discussing what we were gonna do / meaning of life etc.

When it got to my turn I said it was pointless which they were all a bit shocked at.
They were like but I fix planes for a living (RAF), I help people (chiropractor). To which I said, if you weren't alive doing that someone else would naturally take your place. If I got hit by a bus tomorrow yes you would mourn me but life would go on. The world just doesn't stop because someone is gone. I got the reply of I don't know how you can get up each day with that mentality but at the time it was something I accepted and come to turns with. Death is not a bad thing we are only speeding up the inevitable

Some people have goals they wnt to achieve before dying. Like me I want to find someone I can spend the rest of my life with before I die :') Why? Because I don't want to die without knowing the feeling of being loved to me its really sad.

It's our ego that holds all of our presumptions of ourselves. The only experience of this existence is entirely all in your head. Most people are frightened by the thought of letting go of everything they've ever known or done. I don't blame them it's literally built into our subconscious to be afraid of the unknown... at first. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

Yes, given at birth too. Atleast it should be in a clause in the universal declaration of human rights. If we take the US as an example, anyone should have the "liberty" to seek death, and death itself can be sought as part of a "pursuit of happiness". Both are inalienable rights in the Declaration of Independence.

We're not animals we've got the ability to think that make us different and this ability is an open door to depression an others mental struggles. Animals "survives" and procreate that's right but The Human being "lives" procreates, make love for fun and added some useless things like love or friendship.

Oh I wasn't saying that u don't value life I correct my speech : life is useless but you can do whatever you want and staying alive is one of theses things but it's like anything : smartphones are cool things but useless u can protect it like it's a precious thing but that's not a mandatory thing to do...my exemple is bad af I know so I don't think u get it with it...it's hard to explain my thought...

Life may be meaningless but that doesn't mean nobody can find meaning in their own life. Dreams, goals, families, etc. I remember having those things and I loved progressing towards them. It kept my will to live going.

Also I know humans are more complicated than dogs but dogs just enjoy being dogs. They don't try to conceptualize whether life has meaning or not they just do what dogs do and are content with that. Humans should try do the same in my opinion.

I once had meaning and purpose and was passionate about life and all I had created. I was someone who made lemonade from lemons and was so resilient. I could be knocked down and get back up and be challenged by making anything work. Now since the doctor ruined me, I can't find that passion. I feel worthless and inadequate and lost myself.

Because nothing impress me in a negative or a positive way I can't see how life can be awful but i can't see how it can be awesome
For me life is just life it doesn't sucks but it doesn't rock either I feel bored at funerals and mariages with my friends or a psychopath. I'm colorblind when we talk about life so yeah life isn't beautiful for me but if you find it beautiful that's cool for you bro

I think its all lies no one can be happy. Then again I have a few diagnosed mental illnesses so i could be wrong... I just hate this place I get to leave soon though.

I Went to a doctor perfectly healthy just to see how I could be even healthier this past May. He told me I was so sick and my blood work was horrible. He bullied me that I needed to take ambien and a benzo bc I needed sleep. I fought bc I practice holistic medicine by he scared me and I left with prescriptions. Four days later I was so sick and then a week later most of my hair was fried and fell out. I had long thick hair all do my life and now devastated

Idk. I guess having meaning makes you feel better. I mean you can either kill yourself, do nothing, or try to find something that makes you feel really good that gives you meaning and hold onto that for as long as you can. I remember even when i felt like their was no god and life had no meaning for me anymore. I just enjoyed the simple pleasures in life after that. Which for awhile was enough for me.

People can definitely be happy. I grew up in an abusive home and left it at 18 commited to have a different life. And I managed to do that never letting anything get in my way. I definitely was happy for a very long time
