Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Why isn’t the carbon monoxide method discussed here more?

It seems peaceful, relatively low risk, and not too hard to set up. Maybe not as easy or peaceful as SN but now that SN is so hard to get I don't understand why this method hasn't become more popular I only see people here talk about hanging, firearms, and jumping

I'm interested in it but haven't given it much thought because where the hell do people even set it up, in a tent in a secluded forest somewhere? At that point I might as well just full suspension hang if I am able to find a good location like that.
I've seen somewhere that many modern cars from the past ten or so years are actually equipped with CO detectors so they'll automatically shut down when they sense too much carbon monoxide in the air and presumably "too much" is far too little to use as a method.
Modern automotive exhaust systems have significantly reduced carbon monoxide emissions since the days of people accidentally asphyxiating while parked in the garage.
You'd need an enclosed space to do it in in a remote location without interference. A lot of people don't have that. I suppose you could do it in a tent, but I'd be far from certain about my ability to make a tent airtight.
I was really looking for this method before I got SN, i see this method is too complicated for me, and I'm afraid to fail it with getting permanent neurological damage.
It's just annoying to get the materials for and find a space small enough to do it in without it failing. Theoretically it seems like an ideal method but it requires super specific stuff and there's a bunch of things that means it could fail which is why not many people use it I guess. Personally I tried and it didn't work, I was so mentally exhausted after that to the point I just gave up with the method, so I think failed attempts is also a big contributing factor. I used to see threads on co all the time but I think like myself it just hasn't worked out for people so they've switched methods.

I've heard of someone sealing off a room in their house. But obviously if you live with other people that puts them at risk. Burning charcoal in a car is another way

Most discussions are because people don't read the megathread.
With CO you either use chemicals or burn coals inside a small space. Either way its pretty straightforward and you are dead quickly and peacefully.
Despite the misinformation, the body cannot detect CO and there is therefore no gag reflex. Its better than inert gasses as it actually builds up in the blood over time becoming more and more lethal. It doesn't matter if oxygen is present either.

I think it's the idea that the process can occur in a peaceful manner. Evidenced by the fact that many people accidentally die of this type of poisoning while they're sleeping, indicating the absence of any kind of discomfort that would cause one to awaken.
But generally speaking, being a human is unfortunate. Unlike other animals, at least as far as we know, we are the only creatures intellectually developed enough to consciously know that our time will eventually come. At least on a level past primitive survival instinct. This knowledge, together with the fact that it is so difficult to make the inevitable come earlier is very frustrating.
