Its isn't a guaranteed death, and it isn't guaranteed to be painless. Mixing stimulants and depressants is never a good idea, with speed-ball, C required your body to process more oxygen, and H can depress breathing (bradynpea). I don't think there's a set "dosage" of what can kill you, so it would be very unreliable as well.

I don't know about the celebrity in the OP, but do y'all know how many speedballs these guys did before it killed them? How much damage to their hearts they had already done with excessive drug abuse?

If you take enough, it could work. A speedball is kind of overkill for that purpose though. Overdosing on H alone makes more sense to me.

When you have no tolerance or low tolerance even if it's been cut 6 ways from sunday you'll probably die. I was a user for a few months and OD'd. You call it a 'snowball' here, crack and heroin. You don't hear of non freebase coke being injected.
Shoot up in a crackhouse is probably one of the most certain methods of death, the average person in these places will drag you out to a ditch after taking everything you have on you worth two pence before calling for help.
