Because we live in a pro suffering society that wants to force us to live until we die from old age. If N was easily available then most people would probably take it as so many people are trapped in low quality lives and this would mean that the society would lose all of their workers. It's so cruel and unfair how people are denied the option of a peaceful exit. All that it does is force people to resort to risky and painful methods.
