Let's meet up inside the pain, a place just for me

it's so confusing and so frustrating. humans care more about their animals than they do their own kind, which i guess makes sense. if a dog or cat can barely walk anymore, can hardly eat, and clearly it's time to let them go, does the same not apply for humans? especially those that are chronically ill... it should be their fucking choice for easy euthanasia.

if someone is in pain, they should be the one to choose if they should go. but for some reason it's viewed negatively by everyone. it doesn't make sense. the idea of something similar to anesthesia being my last moments is so, so peaceful and i wish that was an opportunity i could access. just sleep and not wake up. i guess that's why the peaceful methods are so sought after. but they ban it! absurd.

i guess in some cases it could be argued it's eugenics, but i disagree. it's bodily autonomy. i've been suffering for YEARS. if i was a dog i would be dead by now.

thanks for reading my dumbass rant lmao. been on my mind all day, thought id put it somewhere.

It sucks because it's not a decision made to help the person who's in pain, but everyone else around them. I feel sick when someone tries to convince suicidal people to not CTB so they don't hurt those around them. They say that suicide is selfish, but should we just endure the pain for the pain for the sake of others then?

My theory is that it's because people have a better time accepting that it's genuinely hopeless for a pet or animal the another human.

After all, if things can get so bad that person would be better off dead... Maybe one day it'd be like that for themselves.

Just staying alive ONLY so others won't have to deal with the corpse isn't really encouraging. I guess they're fine euthanizing pets and animals because they can eat the tasty meat unlike people jk jk.

One of the reasons is because there's tons of money to be made from keeping people alive as long as possible.

It is pretty insane. Considering that we are also able to verbalise our wishes. No animal actually gives its consent to die. I imagine some would actually object- if they realised what was going on. Even some of the very sick ones. People also euthanize animals because they become too expensive or too annoying to care for- bully dog breeds for example.

It clearly isn't humane though- to keep people alive when they are suffering and actually screaming more or less that they want out.

The problem I suppose is we're so codependent on one another. People will also counter argue that it's inhumane to remove a loved one from their family- even if they want to go.

And worse- some suffering isn't all that visible. While we might start conceding that terminally or chronically ill people deserve a dignified, peaceful escape, we may not be so sympathetic to mental illnesses or, terrible life circumstances. To people who insist they are suffering but, doctors won't back them up so much.

Most doctors (especially psychiatrists), are utter pieces of trash. Ignorant, god-complex, etc.

I feel the same way, it truly is the most horrific, evil world where humans want to torture other people for as long as possible, all that anti-suicide does is cause harm and suffering, it's criminal to me how humans are imprisoned in this existence forced to suffer against their wishes even know this existence that I always saw as the most terrible tragic mistake was so harmfully imposed, for me non-existence is just the only peace, it's all I see as positive in this existence so dreadful and torturous that causes endless amounts of harm and suffering, I only envy those who no longer suffer in this horrific world, I'll always see it as a punishment to exist.

It's not the same thing imo. Humans can still have a meaningful existence even if their bodies are failing them. I agree that the option should be there if it is sought out, but it should never be suggested to anyone, nor implied that it's the same as "putting down a sick dog'.

I think international options are Denmark, Netherlands, and Belgum. In the U.S., Oregon..... I don't know of any other pro-medical assisted suicide

One recent story that stands out to me is that a young woman, 28, was able to get the medical clearance in Netherlands to have medically assisted suicide for her BPD. I'm low key jealous. :/
