  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Suicide is a word that resonates within me...

I'm currently sitting in school and again I'm thinking about suicide. Yesterday I was like "I'm gonna succeed in the final exams, if I just learn a little.", today a friend said to me, that I should study a bit more and since then I spaced out, thought about a lot of things and suicide. He literally just said one sentence and my mood changed completely. My question is, if this is normal, when being suicidal. Have you experienced similar things? Thanks in advance for your replies ^_^

There's a lot of reasons why. Hormones that are out of whack. (you seem to be a teenager and growth surges can affect not just moods or mental states)
In my case, my thyroid was malfunctioning, alternating between too little and too much t4 hormone which caused extreme depression alternating with over stimulated extreme anxiety which both proved extremely negative for me both mentally and physically. In the end my thyroid enlarged and the doctor removed most of my thyroid even if it was not cancerous, only half was calcified like stone, another mistake. Taking artificial hormones caused physical and mental stress since it wasn't fully compatible with my body up to now. Its really best if you can get a really good doctor examine you

Yeah, every negative thing, however little, my mind turns to suicide as the solution. I'm tired of always having to fix things, most of which is really out of my control.

Most likely just mood swings/lability. As others have said, there are many reasons why. If you want to go the pathology route, you are gonna need to share more since off what you said that could be several different disorders(BPD, Cyclothymia, MDD, ADHD, and more you get the idea). I wouldn't go that route though lol, since it's probably just mood swings, and not worth fretting over possible causes that probably aren't even what it is.

It's kinda silly since the thought of suicide for many here is seen as oddly comforting, but I can imagine it's probably not pleasant when you were already feeling okay lol. I have similar swings, but it's usually just my manic transition, and it's definitely not as frequent as you make it out.

The swings aren't necessarily healthy, but mood swings, even extreme ones that jump to suicide, aren't that abnormal, and I think a lot of people here probably have experienced something similar. Still, it's unpleasant if it's souring your moods. There isn't really much you can do to stop it, but if you think it's getting worse, it could be from stress or burnout.

Anyways, am still sorry that you are suffering. Hope it improves, or at least stops coming up in such inconvenient times.
