• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

God damn thank you for finally saying this. Why are people so painfully naive? Like you suffer because you want to. How is death cowardly, it takes a lot of damn guts to get past the pain of a lonely death. Plus it also takes a special kind of person to realize the reality of their situation and actually take matters into their own hands. Why do people adhere to Christianity to justify all the suffering in their life. Are people fucking stupid? I think everyone who's just willfully naive is just stupid and lack empathy. They really don't see the world as it really is. A screwed up place.
We choose to rectify the problem while others wallow in it like true cowards.
It's like those random YouTube comments you come across that say:
"To anyone reading this, I don't know you but I want you to know that you are SO loved! You have no idea how much you are loved! I hope you have a wonderful day :smiling::heart::hug:~~"

and then later down in the responses "omggg guys thanks so much for the likessss! Wow never expected this!"

If that shit isn't enough to make a person want to bash their brains in, then idk what is. (Even posting these emojis ironically has damaged my essence.)
Lol perfect parody

My theory on this, is that people like Christianity, and other religions for that matter, because of Terror Management Theory. It's hard for them to understand our point of view on dying, because in TMT, people have to balance the terror of death with the biological will to survive. People who suffer so greatly that death becomes the better option, they even wish it, are likely experiencing so much pain that it overcomes this natural terror. Religion, culture, and belief systems provide a sort of "immortality", whether literally through belief in the afterlife, or figuratively through passing on beliefs or making a name for themselves. Hell, I want to die and I'm still terrified of it. If I wasn't, likely would've CTBd a long time ago. As for the suffering in the world, I guess religion provides them the only way to make sense of it, otherwise it would become to overwhelming and hopeless for them. It is my personal belief, that people believe what is easiest for them to believe. Some people prefer to not have pain, so it is easier to believe what comforts them. For me, believing and seeing how fked up the world is and that we're all doomed to die, isn't comforting but it makes the most sense and eases my cognitive dissonance. Hoping in the supernatural is too painful for me, and trying to have faith in it w/t hard evidence makes me feel insane. So, i prefer hopeless sanity over hopeful insanity.

I don't think they actually believe its going to help. It's just something they can do to make themselves feel like they've helped in a situation they don't want to deal with emotionally. Then they don't have to actually worry about it. It's more for them than it is for the person they're talking to.
