I've seen posts of people trying to guilt-trip someone. I don' t understand why a random stranger would 'care' so much (if they cared, they'd let us go).

This is why I have nothing but contempt for society and wish it burns from whatever destruction. You know why, because I bet you that these once these people have prevented someone from killing themselves, they couldn't give a shit about their life quality. You're about to be jobless and homeless, "Man up, it's your life and your responsibility".

Can't comprehend the incongruity.

I only did it once and was with a mother who had a 9 year child who was about having her life more ruined.

In any other circunstances (nobody who you expressly decided to care about, and even more if he/she is here because of you) I would never do such thing.

Cognitive dissonance.

They see society as.

1. Society and life are wonderful, beautiful, and worth living in.
2. Anyone who is suffering enough to want to take their life must have some form of mental illness.

So if we want to take our lives because of our suffering, we must not be mentally healthy. You have to also understand that they solely see suicide as a symptom of mental illness, but in reality not all suicides are caused by mental illness. You know, it doesn't make them bad people. They are just ignorant and unaware of how things really are. I think we've all been there.

This si so ingrained in society that even a lot of suicidal people think this way, believing theres something wrong with them, wanting to be saved because life is precious and so on

How do we switch to a mindset that says "life is just a phenomenon"?

No but I'm having trouble categorizing the other reasons.
