Why do i always feel annoying?

Whether I'm trying to have fun with friends, talk and make conversation, share my interests, or just keep in touch, i always feel like I'm being insufferably annoying to everyone i care about. all my interests are niche and nobody ever cares if wants to hear about them when i try to share about them irl. whenever i try to chat with friends online i feel like i message too much or too fast and annoy them away with my clinginess. it's like I'm damned if i do, damned if i don't. no matter what i do, I'm always annoying, I'm always weird. i wish i didn't have to work so i could just curl up in my room and rot in bed for a month straight. maybe longer. everything is always better alone

i feel very much the same. interacting with others is really hard and i never know how to do it right.

I can certainly relate to this. I bet a lot of people can! One thing that helps is to remember that unfortunately, most people are very self-absorbed. So the trick to actually interesting someone in conversation and not feeling like you're "talking at" them is to ask them lots of questions. Give them an opportunity to steer the ship, as often as possible. Also, when it comes to texting, a lot of people just take a long time to answer. So don't start asking people why they didn't answer, are they mad at you, etc. because then they'll think you're weird. Let convos sit silent for weeks, months, if need be, until someone else chimes in; if they don't, you'll know they don't really care about you and then you can move on.

Edited just to add that while it may be painful, learning that someone you considered a friend doesn't really care about you is actually a gift. It allows you the mental and emotional space to focus on people who do care, or other areas of your life about which YOU care. "Losing" someone who doesn't care about you is, in fact, no loss at all!

I relate to this so much. Even when conversations go fine, i still feel like i am just annoying the other person. I don't know why anyone would like to keep talking to me.
