I have a moment off from work, and I can't get these people out of my mind. How do other people get joy from innocent people's pain, and just carry on with their lives? What do you believe in that finally quells your kindness from thinking how much better they are when you're in shambles?!

It's so bad, they're so bad, even if i CTB, it wouldn't matter, they wouldn't even care.

If they just discard my value of life, how can I ever respect theirs?

What do you think about these people that satisfies you?? Karma misses them, and I don't keep up with them to even see karma hit.

Yes, absolutely. It seems that kindness is now viewed as weakness. Those of us that care and are compassionate get used and abused, yet assholes seem to get coddled.
I am so sick of people and this existence that isn't even worth calling a life.

Ok so something that my girlfriend says to me when we have this discussion and it's one of the reasons we are together. Those of us who are compassionate and I can probably safely say that, that is everyone on this site who is here for the genuine reason. We feel more, we are more empathetic, we care more and we allow ourselves to feel and consider others, that is why we are the way we are a think the way we think. Those who don't care, don't give a shit and are selfish are th ones as you say who get to be happy because they don't see the world for the horrendous place that it truly is, they don't see people for who they really are because they have these rose tinted glasses on from birth that they never took off.
A little matrix reference if you will (sorry you've got me started) those taking a "red pill", that reveals the unpleasant knowledge and the cruel truths of every day life, and taking a "blue pill" to remain in ignorance and as the old age saying goes...ignorance is bliss

As I stated before, it is an animal instinct to be a dominant.
They increase their own self-esteem hurting other people.
And feeding their so-called "dominance".
This type of people is very vulnerable because if they meet somebody stronger, they surrender and act like they are obedient kids.
Kinda living in disguise and satisfying eternally hungry ego.
There is no point in talking to these people, ignoring is better than talking.
They will understand that there is nothing to catch and leave...

You are normal while they are not.

It takes skill to understand why people are a certain way while being mean and nasty is easy.

Most people have a degree of mental illness. Remember this.

Try to limit your contact with this people. Do not place yourself in a vulnerable position when around them.

Work on yourself. Learn things that will help you get a new job and fill-in other voids in your life.

Humans are inherently evil, cruel people. Look at our history: Ruthless monarchs, ruthless dictators, shitty governments (even nowadays), kidnapping, pedophiles, terrorism, setting forest fires to burn the world, craving power and getting off from hurt, etc.

Even if the most kind-hearted, empathetic, selfless soul is given absolute power over the world, that angel of a person will become corrupt and do horrific things to other human beings. Humans are inherently power-hungry, which is why we have civilizations and societies with flags, laws, social norms, nationalism, etc. in the first place. Being inherently power-hungry makes us all inherently evil.

I dont know am I good or bad but I suffer. I don't want to judge people and decide who deserves this or that, I know only that nobody cares about me when I'm alive and it won't be any different when I die, and all these "sorry" are bullshit. I think this is not only me.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. It's the same thing with my parents, but opposite. My mother was the bright lights, and she got snuffed out while my awful father is still alive.

Inheritly, I think you have a really good point. This is something lots of teachers and professors make note of. Thank you.

I think that it's very true as well. So many brilliant, kind people bite the dust, while the evil, having no concept of what's wrong, fuel their power hungry selves with the suffering of the good.

SO many people are stung by the idea that life is a paradise, or, at least, a place to flourish.

But it clips the wings of so many people, so many lurkers and members here. It clips their wings and stomps their flames out.

These are usually the people who get back up, and get knocked down.

These sorts of people either want to see you not get back up, or just leave you and don't care either way. We are the empathetic ones, huh..? I'll try to hold onto that. Along with everything everyone said here.

No rhyme, no reason.

It's really just that awful, isn't it?

I've noticed you VERY active here on SS. I'm glad to see you're contributing even if you don't think you're doing much. Thank you for stopping by my post

It's so sad. I'm glad kindness isn't a weakness on this site. I'm really grateful that people here are kind to one another and that we can let out what happens to those of us who are so pained, and be kind to each other.

This is only a small corner of the world though. If more people were more understanding, I thinkit would b a better place.

@itsmeagain - I feel like it's the opposite. I prefer feeling the joy and sorrow of compassion over the emptiness of being horrible. Ok, maybe they feel hate, but they are incapable of feeling happiness. Happy people don't hurt others. Compassion/empathy is a gift, maybe a curse too. It's the ability to feel the souls of other living beings. Hate is the lack of connection to anything and such a lonely feeling.

That's just life... an incredibly pointless exercise of suffering, brought about for no reason other than chemical chance. A literal glitch in the lifeless matrix that is the universe. It's fucking soooo unbelievable that anything should be sentient here. Why? For what purpose does it help the universe to be aware of itself, when it won't have any use for the information?

One of those unanswerable existence-based questions.

Oh no, I wasn't saying that I would prefer to be horrible and empty. But sometimes, it's nice to imagine having that sort of... ability to not want to CTB. But I wouldn't chose it if i had a choice.

That seems almost sociopathic, but to be fair, one of them was a lot like a sociopath.

This is a tough question to swallow. The idea that we are here by some one in a trillion chance..... it's just disgusting and very unthinkable that we have to ride this rollarcoaster sometimes. Right now, it's crashing.

Some people are born with tragedy in their blood

There's a saying in my country that is "vaso ruim não quebra", which roughly translates to "a bad vase/jar won't break". And we use it for when someone (who is bad or mean) suffers an accident or is ill, or anything bad happen to them physically, and even tho they manage to escape.

And I think that is so true. It seems like bad/mean people always get what they want, and have a good life.

Most of the time I feel like trash, I feel like an horrible person. But then I think if I was this horrible I'd have good things and have a good life, and I only have bad things happening to me all the time. So I might be a really good person then because I feel like my suffering has no end

Compassionate people suffer because you need to have compassion in order to feel bad about the bad things happening in the world. Horrible people are free of that emotion, and so they go through life more emotionally unburdened by the horrors they witness or cause.

Its a satanic world. Evil and ego are basically rewarded. It also has to do with the times we're living in, it goes in cycles. Kali yuga or whatever. In terms of key positions of control in society, as a general rule the higher you want to climb the more you have to kill your morals, that's why psychopaths run the world.
