• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I imagine that it is often because people feel uncomfortable with silence if they don't also desire it. I can not stand the countless times that I have been asked throughout life "Why are you so quiet?" I'm not sure why anyone feels the need to inquire about how and when I talk.

Being quiet no one has any idea what you're thinking about, That does tend to make people uncomfortable. They can't tell if your are happy or about to go nuclear.

A lot of people (maybe most) aren't comfortable with silence. They assume you're not talking because you are upset or don't like them, or you aren't feeling well, or you're arrogant... They conclude that there must be something wrong with you because extroversion is considered the norm.

I am of few words myself, but I never saw others as weird. They are the ones who I actually find interesting.

You are not alone, I get that all the time. Makes me feel like something is wrong with me. This always makes me an undesirable character in the group. Most of them leave as they see me as boring because of my quietness. I guess there's no place in the world for quiet people.

You know, when I find a person interesting and want to hear more about what they want to say and be there like a good listener. And in my mind I'm about to go "iiiiiiiii like this perr.." & before I can finish that sentence in my mind they throw this dreaded question at me. And I'm like 😑 "I'm outta here"

Yeah, most people only find unattractive people who are quiet weird imo. This goes both for men and women.

It's just our extroverted western culture keeps introverts in contempt. I read that in Thailand, introversion is much more valued.

I had a good friend who was quiet like myself. Sometimes there might be two minutes of silence during our phone conversations.
