Other goodbye posts I saw just had simple goodbyes, but my goodbye post had comments of people trying to talk me out of ctb. Why can't I also get a goodbye like the rest of the people do?

Hard to say. Pro-choice don't like to admit it but there are still standards that make it "acceptable." If you have hesitation and are not sure, or you're being impulsive, you will probably get people trying to convince you to keep trying. I don't think that's wrong. It just is what it is.

Like me, you haven't been here that long. Maybe people don't have clear understanding of your story from your postings (sorry, I haven't read any threads you made or posts you made). I guess it depends on the reasons for ctbing and the people replying and your method and all.
For example, if the person's method was SN and they had already drunk it, there's very little anyone could do so they would most likely just say goodbyes. But if a a person's method was for example jumping people would most likely advice to do something else.
Same with what the reason for ctbing is and who does it. Many believe it's okay for an old person to ctb or a person with severe illnesses to ctb, for example one member was an old widow and others were perfectly okay with that person ctbing. Meanwhile if a person was, for example, a 20 year old who had lost their significant other, some people would be against it. It's ageism and some sort of "Older means wiser and more intelligent" and "Young people are more valuable" and "It's okay for old people to ctb" thinking. I hate the modern infantilizing of young adults and how the society devalues old people.
And then there are people who will always tell you to wait a bit longer and think about it for the umpteenth time.
I think if you want to ctb, you should be able to do so, regardless of anything. I want to value freedom and personal choice. I don't want to hold anyone hostage to life or death. Do what feels right for you.

I just feel schooling is a process and sometimes tests are failed and I say that to anyone on the edge because of tests. It's hard for me to completely ignore age when someone is so young. It's maternal I suppose, sorry.
I've seen older members get the same treatment with a reception of are you sure? and I've seen youthful members get their proper last goodbyes so I think the community does okay about ageism. Perfect about nothing but okay. It's just natural for older people to have a nurturing feeling towards young people. That's a hard human instinct to completely shut off. I hear you on ageism though.

I read their posts and realized only now who they were.
I don't know that to say. But I just read two hours ago that South Korea has the world's third highest suicide rate. I even watched n interview a long time ago, about a North Korean who escaped to South Korea and hated it so much that he wanted to either ctb or go back to North Korea. There are young North Koreans who literally risk their lives to get to South Korea but the country sucks so much that they want back.
SK is really competitive, they said. In North Korea you have family and friends and you go to the jobs they tell you (to the parents's jobs which is bad of course if you hate their jobs), but in South Korea they say "There's millions of others. You aren't entitled to anything unless you study till your eyes bleed and work till your hands come off". Instead of seeing others as friends, you see them as enemies, because what if they take your job or school position? Instead of being kind to your child, you push them till they break, because they need to study and study and study and work hard in order to get a job.
It's hellish in both Koreas, just in different ways.
Shit. I hate family problems. Parents can cause so many troubles. Parents are sometimes a child's worst enemies.

Things here aren't black and white. There's a spectrum of opinions about suicide. Some think suicide is totally acceptable for any person of any age, for any reason. Some think it's only understandable for people in the most harrowing and hopeless of situations, like horrible disease or illness.
Most are somewhere in the middle, and will often express concern and care, possibly by trying to offer help, but also understanding for someone who is contemplating suicide.

I'm pretty sure that people mean well, but I think there are some people who invalidate the suffering of others, some of these people are likely older people needing to ctb because of health problems and they have this delusion that all younger people who want to ctb all have temporary problems and are being irrational. In reality these people know nothing about the lives of others and what they are going through, not everyone shares everything on the internet, so I understand why you would be so frustrated.
Also we all have different limits as to what we can cope with in life, things that may seem insignificant to one person may be devastating to another. After all, it is your life and your decision so therefore only you know what is best for yourself. Suicide is a personal decision and we all have the right to exit at a time of our own choosing. I wish you the best in whatever happens.
