Who do you think should be allowed the right to a peaceful death?

For purposes of the poll "suicidal people" can refer to people suicidal for whatever reason, terminal illness, depression, homeless, cancer patients, disabled, mourning death etc

Which people deserve a right to a peaceful death?
Every body?
People with mental illnesses and chronic pain?
Should there be an age limit?
Should people have to have tried to recover and heal for a certain amount of time before wanting to end their lives?

Everybody does but for the sake of this website not being taken out of context I'd say only those over 18. I suppose children dying in a hospital still deserve a peaceful death too and even regular people regardless of age deserve one as well it just doesn't have to be by their own hand.

I don't think it matters or not if you've tried to recover or not. Even people who die outside of suicide like by natural causes should still want it to be peaceful.

And then there's the flip side that technically no one deserves any such kind of death. It comes for us whether we want it or not so as much as we'd like it to be peaceful, we are not entitled to it either.

I'm pretty sure that almost all people will try to recover first before they finally come to the conclusion that suicide is the only remaining option for them. I don't know of anyone here who is suicidal just out of nowhere - everyone has a story to tell and what has lead them to this point in life.

Everybody 18+ must have the right for a peaceful exit on their own terms.

Parents are the ones who have to make decisions and they should have the right to do that. But this is a very complex and difficult question here when decisions for others are made.

I feel like so long as the person is over the age of 18, it is in their right to die a peaceful death if that is what they wish. It's my body and it's mine choice as to whether I want to keep on living or not. So long as someone is an adult who is in a place in life where they are able to make their own informed decisions then they should be allow to end it. I do think that there should be exceptions made for minors who suffer from terminal illnesses, though.

I would amend to say anyone who is above 18 of sound mind and not a vulnerable person. I would hate the idea of people being coerced into being done away with because they were 'burdens'.

Ideally anyone who understands death and what it means to die. But society will never allow minors to do it. So I votes for anyone over 18.

If we allow 18 year olds to join the military and possibly die in war, then any legal adult should get to decide if they are done with living for any reason they see fit.

To me it's just so horrific how so many are against the right to die even know literally nobody consented to this existence in the first place, if selfish humans are going to commit the cruel and harmful crime of procreating then the option to die in peace should be there at all times, nobody should be forced to suffer in this existence and to want to make it so people have to struggle to die is really evil.

There's no point or value to human existence, it's just a futile and torturous burden, I never would have chosen existence and I should just be able to die painlessly whenever I want to. To have the ability to exist is beyond undesirable especially as there is endless potential for harm and suffering, I'd always prefer to not exist no matter what, only being permanently unaware is ideal, I'm tired of suffering in this existence that was always so meaningless and unnecessary in the first place.

I believe that anybody regardless of age should be allowed to ctb peacefully whenever they want to. I don't understand why society bend backwards for minors at all... it's absolutely strange to me. They should be allowed a peaceful death too. Since we were all born here against our will, we should be allowed a peaceful way out of here whenever we want to. I also don't think that we should have to exhaust all options to be eligible for euthanasia either. As already stated, we were born here against our consent so we shouldn't be having any obligations to live when we don't want to. An old coworker of mine was murdered by her ex. He ran her over with her car while she was trying to leave while arguing over custody of their 2-year-old. He claimed it was a horrible accident, his dad paid bail, he fucked around on Tinder for a while and then CTB via heroin overdose before his court date. To hear and read people say that "he had demons he couldn't overcome" and "may he have a soft journey to a better place" about him as though he were a regular suffering person from SaSu drives me up the wall. He should have died at 102 in a jail cell.

I agree, over 18 with no means of recovery. MAYBE under 18 if they are terminally ill with zero recovery hopes, I'd hate to see a grade schooler suffer unnecessarily through surgeries, but idk that's a topic I just can't wrap my head around, it is so painful.

I guess some people may be bored of life but not necessarily suicidal or they might just be curious if there's an afterlife or want to die for whatever reasons

In the country where I live, anyone aged 12 and older can request euthanasia (including for mental suffering).
