Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Do we know? Is there a way to know or confirm? I've seen quite a lot of goodbye threads since I joined, but everyone came back so far. Don't misunderstand me, I don't anyone to kill themselves, but I'm just curious to how high the mortality rate is here.
I know of one member. After her goodbye to me I texted her many times not believing that she ctb. After one day, I decided to call her and her father answered the skpye call telling me the person you are calling committed suicide. He cried and said he lost his best friend

Unless you know someone personally outside of the forum I do think it is hard to prove, but given the sort of site this is, and the amount of people on here, it's a given people do go through with it.

Makes me so angry she blames the site. Almost nobody comes here to just take a "gander". Maybe some are just curious but for those of us who sign up, and even many guests have already had this on their mind. Website or not, she probably would have ended her life. We are not responsible at all!!!!

The mother is obviously looking for someone or something to blame. It's a common coping mechanism for those left behind via CTB. It's easier for the mother's mentality to blame our forum than to truly look back and review on what may have happened to cause her daughter so much pain, causing her daughter to CTB.

I know of a few on here. But as far as confirming ALL of the ones who have passed away here, no, I don't believe there is a definite way to know (aside from obituaries and news articles). The best we can do is take one's word for it, but again, no actually way to 100% know for sure (aside from the ones who are publicized by the news or those who have found an obituary).
My former CTB Partner died. We met each other 1 1/2 years ago on this website and chatted everyday via WhatsApp. We became really close and I considered him as my best friend. We even met a few times in person. He finally told me that he couldn't take it anymore and that he wanted to die. I didn't know what to do so I wished him good luck... Shortly after his death the police came to my house to tell me that he committed suicide. He used SN to ctb

Lots of people have been lost to us over the years.
But I'd be more interested to know how many suicidal people have been saved because there is somewhere they can be honest and open.

I believe this is the mother's way of releasing whatever pent up anger she feels towards the unfairness of losing a child along with a mixture of misguided self imposed righteousness under the impression that by taking down our forum, she's 'saving' other individuals from death.
As it has only been 6 months since the death of her daughter, I wager the mother is still somewhat emotionally and mentally fragile, and will seek vengeance on what she personally deems as immoral. We just happen to be the most convenient outlet for the mother's negative emotions.

You could actually apply the whole CBT programme by using their own arguments
I do believe it is very helpful and very liberating to speak out your true thoughts and feelings. And what do the sources really matter in a ctb? One part is practical information, part is social. Main question is: why were these people actively searching to exit?
Yes I knew one person who ctbed here
And as for this girl and her parents....I understand that theyre heartbroken but its the only safe space for us whenre no one condemns us. Ive been treated awfully by the mental healthcare providers all my life. And they want to shut it down. Not nice
I believe the answer to the question at hand here is redundant. The objective of this place isn't to rack up some type of body count. It's to help people, help them do what they're gona do anyways, or help them to come back from it and possibly heal.

cant help but wonder who they would have campaigned against if she had hung herself instead of her method, maybe her work place- cos she hated work so much-that prob would have been the focus of their campaign-unhealthy work enviroment-drove girl to suicide etc. I feel sad for them but they are just trying to find anyone else to blame, they cant accept that it was her (an adult) that made that choice and her alone- what if she had watched a movie with a suicide in it a few backs-try and sue the director, a song about death/pain in life on a record-blame the artist etc.

It's a natural human instinct to lay blame on something. It's too hard for most people to accept the reality of the situation. It's like an automatic coping or self defense mechanism in the brain. Maybe akin to the fight or flight reaction.
