Help Where to start planning CTB?

Frankly I need a roadmap of what I need to do for a successful CTB, but the information is overwhelming and I do not know where to start, I guess I want to know if this all can be organized brilliantly, maybe illustrate what you guys do when planning it all out, is there a process/method to the madness?

I think this question is a bit vague but what I plan to do is research my chosen method to reduce the chance of failure. The fear of failure is the main thing that holds me back from ctb. I wish you the best in whatever happens.
