I've tried putting a bedsheet and belt around my neck and pulling really hard. With both I could barely breath, but I had no symptoms of being choked out. I've tried below, on, and above the Adam's apple all with no success. Where have you put the hanging material on your neck?

Edit: I can find the pulsing blob, but no matter how hard I compress it with my hand, the pulse still continues and I don't get any of the symptoms of being choked out.

The pressure should be on the side not the throat area.my vision became blurred when i found the sweet spot doing the partial hanging method.and ur head should be upright.if u look down,the pressure will focus on your windpipe and you will be out of breath.my si is too strong.i stopped when i was going to faint.

I have read that rope should be above adams apple and knot behind your neck
I put it just under my adam apple.it works too

If u are doing partial.rmb to lean ur body forward.if u feel discomfort with ur throat and breathing,u are doing it wrong.stop immediately and try again

im trying partial / lean in technique- breathing was ok- but sadly dont think you can avoid some discomfort-even the pressure, dizziness makes me feel nausea and extreme panic-as it still feels really horrible no? also the psychological element-but I guess thats a whole different thing to worry about!
