Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Where are all the folks that joined earlier than me? Feels like I am the most senior member here, awful. Everyone who joined (I know not everyone) before 2022 killed themselves already? Pre 2022 folks, what's up, how are you doing?

They may have ctbed or found a way to recover. The same topics keep being repeated on here, so gets boring after awhile if you don't have anything to vent I doubt people will have any need to visit this forum.
I made this account in 2021 but only started being barely active in late 2022. Though I've known of this site before. I've seen plenty of other users that have older join dates here.
Some older users have ctbed, but I think a majority likely have recovered or should I say "recovered".
I think maybe some have made a 2nd account too, maybe out of embarrassment since join dates are so accessible in this site.
I'm still existing and hanging around for now. I do find it a little harder to engage when there's so much change that it's almost like a new community entirely.

I've been here for a bit but wasn't very active for a little while. I'm back now and miserable though. Seems a lot of people that were here no longer are

The biggest difference was less of the constant anxiety we have today. We were not constantly feeling under attack from outside intruders since our community was less public.
We also had N from D, so people could focus on making choices about their lives knowing that there is a reasonable way out if need be. Threads about N from D were as common as today's daily threads questioning the efficacy of SN or enquiring when N will be available again.
In other ways, the sorts of issues people were facing and the types of traumas are hauntingly similar throughout the ages. Only the names will change.

I've been around since late 2020, left (deleted acc) and came back twice after failing to ctb. There's a lot of names I don't see anymore that we're regulars here. I assume some succeed, maybe others are still here like me but with a different username than before (mine were hfdepression & lastlife) or perhaps some of them found a reason to keep living and they left the site. I guess no one will really know. My life has been up and down in the 3 years or so that I've known this site but I always end up back in the same spot - wishing I was dead and losing the will to carry on.
Previous people who have disappeared have either moved on with their lives, got banned, succeeded with their CTB plans or failed with their CTB plans and are either too weak to communicate and/or are imprisoned in some way and no longer have access to SaSu.
I've been around this site for quite a while ago, I've been regularly posting on here since 2021. It's very unfortunate that I'm still here but I guess it's just the way that things are. But I think that it's really understandable why people don't stay on this site for long as I think that most people come on here to plan a suicide method, either to ctb immediately or just to have a method plan for a later date. Once people have found what they need then they have no use for this site. I mean after all, this is a suicide forum and I don't understand why people not being on this site is something to complain about.
My life became tolerable for a bit (or, at least I was able to distract myself from my problems), but my issues have caught up with me again, and I'm planning to finally take my SN soon.
This is just my thoughts and please no snappy responses, as we all have our own ideas, but for me SS has become more sensitive to the needs of fellow members, folks who join, some come for ctb info, but a lot come out of loneliness like me! to have friends/family, call it what one wants to.
There is nothing right or wrong with anything, all personal choice, but to have a community that loves, cares and UNDERSTANDS is not only so important but vital.

Indeed, most of the names I see now are from users that joined in 2023 (understandably) and it makes me feel like an elder, even though I only joined a few months ago.
It is interesting to see the amount of old users getting striked off lately though.

That's also a giant part for me being so active on here, I feel very listened to. I haven't been here for that long but I absolutely understand it can feel like family.
