If you have decided on leaving when will you and why have you chosen this particular date?


I plan on leaving in less than two weeks. I'm in my holidays now so I'd like to leave before it ends.

I thought I'd have a successful attempt last Friday, however, I ran into the damn "save yourself" reflex and started to get emotional about the whole situation. I'm sure I'll try again in a couple days...the feelings of hopelessness and the benefit everyone will get by me not being here weigh heavy on my heart and mind...and considering the my birthday is coming up and I will not have anyone to celebrate it with...again, will eventually put me in the mood to just follow through.

My initial date was September but some things got delayed so I'm going for late October/November probably. Halloween would be a nice date to ctb to be honest. Even December would be fine, I just hope to leave before 2019. I might also visit my girlfriend again in the meantime but I think that should settle it. Everything else - my method, exit note, location - is ready.

I'm really frustrated though. And I'm envy of all the people in this forum who said goodbye already. I hope to follow them very soon.

I've been thinking about doing it for years on and off, it's got a lot worse lately. Have been looking into it more and doing trial runs of a couple of methods. I have the impression when it comes it might be impetuous and so the practice might prevent me from fucking up if it is. As Jon mentioned, i am beginning to realise how hard it is. Survival instinct has to be so depressed, by life in general, health or drugs or whatever, in order to get me there. To answer your question, not today

Like giving up smoking. I think many heavy smokers suffer quite a similar denial, myself included. They know it's effectively suicidal and constantly vacillate between do it and don't do it. This might equally apply to any self destructive addiction. Cbt brings relief, just the thought of it, in the same way alcohol or cigarettes or heroin or whatever else gives someone an option to life 'as it is'. Anyway, i'm going off topic.

I'll probably take it to a shooting range and test it out briefly first just to make sure everything is running smoothly or see if I need to switch out some of the supplies. After that, I'll do it the next time my distress overrides the survival instinct.

Hopefully before the new year. I don't like to set dates, I'd rather just do it when I feel like it's the time to do so. I'd like to see my dad one last time before doing so since he's the only one I have anything to do with. I don't think it's the death part that scares me anymore, it's the feeling of failure (yet perhaps they're really one of the same. I don't know anymore). I could plan everything to the tiniest detail but knowing me still mess it up. I'm incompetent.
