wow...each AA takes 2 years?
A lot of them were prerequisites and only left a few classes to complete for each certification/degree. I also won 3 scholarships and had a 3.5-4.0GPA. I took 17 units in one semester and often went above and beyond.

Wats ASL???

ASL is American Sign Language. I needed 2 years of a foreign language for priority to enter the nursing program. I had also considered becoming an interpreter.

What would you like to know about the railroad?

Overall the material can be sort of dry. A lot of it consisted of rules, parts, careers, and things like that. History of railroading was my favorite class in the program. I really wanted to be an engineer.

I had friends who worked for a railroad too, and used to quiz them on their rules from time to time. They'd do the same to me.

Nothing wrong with that. I never actually went to high school but later got a diploma online and then went to college. Similarly, I dropped out.

My life is a strange tale, but I started off wanting to be a geography professor. I don't have many talents but I'm one of those people who can tell you the capital of South Sudan without looking it up. Sadly I caved to anxiety and dropped out of university. Then I became interested in web development because it allowed me to be reclusive. I taught myself how to code and program, and launched several business-oriented websites. Many failed, but one succeeded, got quite big, and made me a decent monthly income. Eventually I sold it (bad move) and was back at square one. I then decided I had to do something low-key and practical, so went to study bookkeeping/accounting, but again bailed on my studies due to anxiety. Finally I drove for Uber for a while until dealing with people got to be too much. And now here we are.

Kinda ironic!!

One of my instructors told me that our personal lives deeply and productively inform what we choose to study and the questions we ask. It strikes me as natural that many who think about the human emotional experience of life would themselves take this up as a career. Too bad our (Western) cultures don't compensate them what they're worth.
