What poem do you guys identify with that makes you feel like embracing death? Mine is the skull by GK Chesterton

"Chattering finch and water fly
Are not merrier than I
Here among the flowers I lie
Laughing everlastingly.

No I may not tell the best
Surely friends, I might have guessed
Death was but the good kings Jest
It was hid so carefully."

Basically, death is a joke. Life is a joke. When we lay in the dirt with nothing but a bones and skull left, it laughs. And we don't see our death literally hides beneath our skin. or at least that's how I interpret it.

My poetry will likely be my last message to the world, I feel like it's more memorable than a suicide note and it's catchy. Still don't know when it's gonna happen, but it helps me understand where I'm at and where I'll likely go.

I have two:

The wind surge and the darkness is still
The end of darkness
The world that seemed to be eternal
Catalyzing world, to a fault
Gaze at the surface of the water of dreams
Light of the water at the time of plague; the deepest recesses in my mind
Into the faint light of hope...
Your hope in a ray of light...
I have only one wish
My wish is only one
To ease your heart...
Searching for... you...

๐ŸฉทAlfonsina Storni, one of the best remarkable poets of the twentieth century.

"The things that die never resurrect,
the things that die never transform.
The cups and the glass break and what remains
is dust forever and forever it shall be!

When the buds fall from the branch
twice in a row they shall never bloom . . .
The flowers truncated by the ungodly wind
are depleted forever, forever never!

The days that were, the lost days,
the inert days shall no longer return!
How sad the hours that were threshed
below the slice of loneliness!

How sad the shadows, the insidious shadows,
the shadows created by our wickedness!
Oh, the departed things, the withered things,
the celestial things that leave us that way!

Heart . . . silence . . . Cover yourself in sores . . .
- in infected sores - cover yourself in evil! . . .
That all that arrives dies upon being touched,
damned heart that makes restless my toils!

Farewell forever all my sweetnesses!
Farewell my joy full of kindness!
Oh, the dead things, the withered things,
the celestial things that shall never return! . . .

This inspirational poem about the death of a loved one invites us to look for them all around us in the beauty of the world.
Written as if spoken by the deceased, the poem tells us that whilst their body may be given to the ground, their presence lives on.
This comforting, heartfelt message doesn't mean that we can't miss someone, but it reminds us that we should notice them there with us still.

Immortality by Clare Harner
Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleepโ€”
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand
By my grave, and cryโ€”
I am not there,
I did not die.

I loved this poem. When my mom passed away this poem helped me get through it. It's extremely comforting and I almost forgot about it until now so thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

This sounds beautiful but I'm having a hard time understanding some of it. Im hesitant to look up it's meaning on Google because that takes all the fun away from the mystery of interpreting it yourself. What does it mean to you?
