So I came across this website in the US that sells Scottish food.
https://www.scottishgourmetusa.com/
The prices are extortionate! Even the shortbread is ridiculously priced, shortbread is one of the easiest things to make, only requiring plain flour, caster sugar, butter and a pinch of salt.
The Scotch Pies are a joke, as John McEnroe used to yell "you cannot be serious"
Scotch pies are commonly referred to as muck pies because they usually contain the otherwise inedible parts of a coo or pig. I won't sicken you with what parts they use, more expensive pies might not contain the inedible parts.
Scotch pies are one of the cheapest foodstuffs available here, and I've enjoyed them many a time with beans, mash and gravy. In the photo you can see the price difference between the US and here, if you were to buy the same amount here it would set you back $3.18.
I can't be bothered doing the math to work out what the profit is, but I said to my brother "if we go to the US and open a shop we'd be millionaires in a month"
