You seem to get quite a few things wrong so let me clue you into my decision making. Here is
the post in question for full context and as you can see, it only shows one side of the conversation. Do you know why? I asked Jeremy for the entire chatlog back then and the conversation turned out to be
fully mutual and consentual, Jeremy played along with every single thing Mark said. There was no action to be taken between grown adults chatting about whatever and given the next day he was found out to be Jeremy, a notorious troll who is obsessed with the forum, the situation was simply dealt with for me. The fact that Mark actually turned out to be a creepy guy later on wasn't some excellent foresight of Jeremy, it was simply a matter of chance. Jeremy threw out bait and Mark fell for it. But back in 2021, and that's very important context, that was also the first time MarkTheGhost had any suspicious incident on this forum - if I'm not fully mistaken. I checked the report log and there was nothing. All reports up until 2022 were about off-topic content, not creepy behavior. He came off as desperate in some posts but there was nothing explicitely predatory in any of the reported content
without the context that we have today. And that's important to take into consideration before you start blaming me, by the way. All of it starts to look very suspicious once you take into consideration what would happen in 2022, more than one year later.
The post about strangling someone didn't get reported and it was posted a full year later. And we did internally agree as a response
to this post to keep an eye on this member and we also recognised there is a strong fixation on female members, just for full transparency. But none of the posts you point out here were reported, just saying. You didn't do it either by the way, same goes for Chinaski who responded to him in that thread - which is odd because you knew all about it, right? You knew one year later he would have the cops knock on his door or did I misunderstand something here? It's easy to point fingers but I don't think you're in the position to do that. Like again, I simply wasn't aware but you accuse me to have bad intentions. Do you think that's fair? Again, there were no reports, okay. Because, again, isolated, you look over these posts and you go like "ok, weird" and that's it. Because again, none of these threads describe any actions, it's just "hmh what about this, what about that", which is weird but in a vaccum not bannable. It starts to look really bad when you look at the complete picture with full consideration of all posts and that's what we did by the way in Fall 2022, when he posted
his final thread and that's what caused people to look into him and point out the problematic nature of his conduct, because the police being at his flat gave us evidence that it wasn't just all talk anymore but
actually concerning behavior with potential real-life rammifications and one day later I banned him, and in my ban message there was a very detailed list of reasons for his ban because that's when I went through every single thing he ever posted to build a case.
So no, this wasn't me thinking to myself "ahh, a potential rapist, I'd love to have them in my forum", which is exactly what you're trying to suggest here, it was simply me underestimating the potential threats from that member because I didn't have the full picture yet and I said in the post Chinaski linked, nobody reported these posts. It simply went under our radar. And that can happen when these problematic remarks are posted several months apart. Like do you think I'll remember that one guy who was weird 6 months ago? No. I was simply unaware of the full scope of this behavior until the thread about cops knocking on his doors caught the attention of members in this forum and mine.
It's also worth to point out from Spring to Fall 2022 we were severely understaffed. Like at times we had one or two people doing moderation, so - admittely, with a more active team we might have noticed earlier, maybe. But none of the moderators who are active now had anything to do with that, most of the moderators who are active today joined
after Fall 2022.
Just to set the record straight, because apparently that's something I have to do over and over again, despite me having
this discussed like almost 3 years ago. And same with the donations now, it's like I have nothing else to do than to discuss stuff that was discussed and resolved years ago. Like, unless you have a time machine, what's exactly the point of bringing this up now other than to rile up the community against this malicious, evil administrator that's ruling this forum with an iron fist? Isn't that the tone you've tried to set for the last couple of days?
