I don't know, I guess my tendency to overthink every little thing. It kills me, but I can't stop. :(

Trying to be a good person. I should just be a total dick and treat people like shit, the way they treat me. Maybe if I was an asshole I'd get some goddamn respect.

I agree with the poster a few posts above me. I try to live with an ethical code. Done it my whole life. But my "good" ethical code is simply not compatible with the world. It just causes me more anguish in the long run. So that, and also the fact I've turned into an extreme realist and pessimist (which most of my sentiments are or turn out to be true), but it just kills enjoyment from basically anything.

I've tried to be a perfectionist over my life and should've just been a monkey business larper like everybody else and not care what happens or who gets hurt. But alas that's not who I am. I'm not compatible with this world and will not miss it.

Probably the fact that I tried to be a good person, this lead me down a path of terrible decisions for the sake of others, and now I'm stuck in this world because I can't bring myself to hurt them.

If I was a horrible and hateful person they wouldn't miss me, I guess that no good dead goes unpunished.

Avoidant behavior. I've really dug myself in deep because of this and it just keeps getting worse as I age. It's completely ruined my social life.

Same here. Being a realist is really quite a bummer, but my brain just won't allow me to believe whatever it wants. I've tried. It won't let me. It's so strange to me how the majority of people seem to be the opposite. Ah well, whaddya gonna do, eh?

That I care too much. I spend all my time making sure everyone is okay yet never take 2 secs to think about myself. It's exhausting..

I'm a stubborn mule lol, which sometimes lead to...not the greatest of decisions. I constantly assumed a " if I respect them, they'll respect me back' approach, which ultimately was taken advantage of a lot, causing me to become more cynical in the process. Also my social inhibitness, which caused me to be further ostracized by most people(as well as being accused of things I didn't even do, ruing my reputation further)

I'm the kind of person who would bleed themselves dry and sacrifice everything for way too many people who don't deserve it. I've spent years on empty being the overworked therapist friend and the punching bag in abusive relationships, all because my abusive stepmom wanted someone to torture and leech off of so she programmed me this way. Unlearning that programming has become a years' worth of processing that I haven't even begun to crack, somehow.

She trained me to believe from a very young age that I have to be kind and respectful at all costs, when someone asks you something and you have the means you need to do it, when authority tells you something you must comply, etc. She brainwashed me and it is hard to break the spell.

Uh, my worst flaw. Shit there's so many. I guess it's how my mind leaps to the worst possible conclusion and just sticks with it, even if it's somewhat irrational.

She brainwashed me and it is hard to break the spell.

It would be very difficult indeed. It sounds like a good step to take would be figuring out and establishing healthy boundaries. I understand that's far easier said than done...

Feeling like everyone has wronged me, but knowing that I've just wronged everyone else. I'm still unsure what the real truth is but I live by both of these extremes and ultimately just want to die so I dont have to worry about it anymore. No more getting hurt, no more hurting others.

Since I'm here, I suppose my worst flaw would also be my greatest advantage, which is the ability to overthinking and overanalyze every little thing. It gives me awareness of my other flaws but (of course :/) stops just short of providing me with ideas on how to fix them. So I get to be in a constant limbo of awareness and paralysis, again overthinking the myriad possible consequences of my actions. Fun.
