I've been reading studies that say diets with less empty carbs and sugars like the Mediterranean and DASH diets, and it seems to align with my own experiences.

Examples of studies:

I feel like shit when I binge of chips, pasta, baked goods, and ice cream. On the other hand, I feel my depression lightened and I somewhat feel less desire to CTB whenever I stick to mostly fruits, veggies, and lean meats.

However, I'm not entirely sure if it's just me jumping to conclusions. Has anyone else noticed any changes whenever you change how you eat (for better or worse)?

Sugar and sweets generally are often linked to mood disorders. Cutting them out as much as possible can only help.

But mostly you probably just avoid feeling guilty about eating junk.

I have a ton of salads(every veggie imaginable) , organ meats like liver, kidney, brain etc. a cabinet full of all the vitamins and minerals from Thorne research.

cold plunge and sauna plus exercise.

Nothing helps. something fundamental is missing. that stuff will help normal people.

My diet ranges from terrible to not too great. Seeing as I've gone through a particularly unhealthy phase, I've put on weight and feel so shit. Feeling more tired than usual after doing physical work which is making me more lethargic and more unhappy.

Sadly, junk food does cheer me up in the short- term though. So, it's just shit really. I can either be miserable because I'm having to diet and eat healthy food or, I can eat junk, feel happy but then feel even worse when I put on weight. I just think life's shit.

Well, I tried to eat as healthy as I can. My relationship with food and my self-image is still somewhat turbulent but not as bad as before.

I try to eat anything and try to stay as active as possible. (Helps the days go by faster)
It has somewhat improved my heath than before but is not a guarantee that if you eat healthy your mental health can get better but eating well can have some benefits.

However, my mental has improved moslty with meds (mostly helps me keep me numb) but hey is something. Way before that I was a mess.

There was a time when I ate steak frites everyday and it improved my physical health greatly (chronic illness remission). I got fat tho

I eat as little as possible and am often hungry. High protein, and minimal sugar, salt, fat, or meat. Black coffee is my main food group. It's not easy with the monstrous food industrial complex and the healthcare industrial complex conspiring to make people as unhealthy and food-addicted as possible (in other words "profitable" for them). But having said all that, I find it makes no difference at all to me mentally or emotionally. I'm glad it helps some people.

I just eat whatever I feel like eating at the moment, and apparently it's unintentionally decently balanced because all my nutrition stuff is fine in my blood tests

I have been curious about trying organ meats for a while, it's quite uncommon to eat them in the culture I live in, the only people I know that eat them are african immigrants

Careful with organ meats especially if you have a family history of gout. Definitely moderation key with those. I have liver maybe once a fortnight but even that spikes uric acid levels a bit.

I think when I just ate relatively healthier I felt a bit better, maybe because of just general nutrition yes but also I think that the aspect of just taking care of yourself plays a big part in it too if not the biggest one to be honest.

Because of my illnesses, I can eat and drink very little that is tasty. I follow "Table No. 4". If I could eat at least something from the "forbidden fruit", then I would feel a little better. It is very difficult to exist when you can basically only eat water porridges :,(
