An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
It's a genuine question. I've been seeing a psychiatrist for a few months now and there hasn't been much progress. I know it's my fault because I've never liked speaking, so I don't do much beyond responding to the questions asked, but also I'm unsure of what the benefits of psychiatry are.
A psychiatrist? For medication.
A psychiatrist is pretty much useless without a psychologist. Medication is meant to be used in conjunction with other recovery methods.

Psychiatrist prescribe you drugs according to a subjective classification based on DSM or ICD. The point of psychiatry is to mislead healthy but vulnerable people into believing they have an biological disease, prescribe them drugs that don't improve people's wellbeing in the long term, and make big pharma even richer. Read Loren Mosher letter of resignation. There's no point in psychiatry other than 1. exploring vulnerable people, 2. diagnosing healthy people with "diseases" so they can get disability income. It's the easiest job in medical field because it's not an actual medical science. Psychiatrists are people who found actual medicine and medical science too hard but want to explore people for easy money anyway.
Despite effort from neuroscience, there's no objective and empirical scientific validation (e.g. biomarkers) for any psychiatric classification. What evidence shows is the causes linked to psychosocialeconomic issues, and no biological/diseases process has been found by scientific community. That is, the evidence points towards psychiatric diagnoses NOT being biological disease, so the use of biomedical intervention like psych drugs is also wrong in the disease centered model of psychiatry.
That's why I (have to) seek a psychiatrist. I'm required to try to get better so I'll be ready for work eventually, but they give me disability income so I don't need to work and can focus on "getting cured". I drag out the psychiatric treatments or say it doesn't work so I can continue as long as possible. Once they give up on me by finding me uncooperative and cut my income is when I'll definitely kill myself. So in that sense I like psychiatry haha. Because they can't actually prove if I'm getting better or not because nobody can measure another's consciousness (they don't even know what consciousness is! Lol).
People are splitting hairs over the definition of psychologist/psychiatrist , but you already revealed one thing that's preventing you from getting the full benefits of seeing the doctor - you're not talking anymore than responding to questions.
- YOU ask questions you need to know
- be completely honest about yourself
- establish the gray area with your doctor so you can be honest while staying out of a padded room
- if you don't get the vibe that you trust them, get a different doc

Yeah, psychiatry is only actually useful for that. See, I don't have any problem with people getting an income "for free". I'm pro universal basic income, universal housing, and all those basic living standard. I'm pro people don't needing to work if they don't want to. But needing to people to get on having a "disease" instead of the truth that the established socioeconomic system is the actual issue is very sad.

Spot on! I agree with all that except I would add to the last part that some people's minds are also destroyed by other social issues than economics. Things like bullying, bereavement, divorce (my case), cheating, violence, sexual assault and in general dreams and hopes shattered. Psychiatry is too busy "fixing" the victim than fixing or preventing the perpetrators and hate we have towards each other as social creatures.
