Can anyone tell me how much is regarded as a lethal dose of amitriptyline?
In some cases I've read 3g-ish. Others say less or more. The amitriptyline cocktail says 7g, is that just as a certainty?
Does anyone know what a toxicologist would have in his rule book as a lethal dose?

Hello,
LD-50 is a very vague thing which often has nothing common with a real lethal dose.
It depends on your weight, metabolism and many other factors.
That is why it is 7g which will kill everybody. 3 g may not do that to certain people.

So a toxicology report that states 3 times the lethal dose means the lethal dose for the body they're examining?

There is some more info, very old info:

"LD-50 on injection, as with many drugs, is lower by a factor of ten . http://www.vh.org//Providers/Conferences/CPS/31.html reports an LD-50 of approx. 35 mg/kg, which correlates more closely with the Merck i.p. LD-50 of 65 mg/kg. The above webpage also says that patients have "survived ingestions of 10g".
