I believe that you would simply cease to exist, turn the earth, turn the dust of the stars, which is what we all are. For those who do not believe in religions, but in science, of course.

thats the materialistic belief and it has been governing our reality for the last 200ish years but there are many things it cant explain like 4 example quantum physics cant be explained with that belief because is abnormal :) or God and so on but it limits our perception in some way in my opinion .....

It is there that thousands of religious theories enter, that we will only know when we go to the other side. As much as I do not believe it, I think it's cool to have something beyond death

IDK !! but once about 5 years ago i had a close friend and we were leaving like 10 miles apart and i was sleeping but a restless sleep so i was dreaming that i was on a night out with him and the bodyguards at the bar we were drinking in this dream of mine were chasing us so i woke up full of sweat and scared :D 5 mins later i call him somebody chased him and slaped him badly in font of a bar on the bar street where we would usually go out
so the chances of that happening are impossible but we are somehow connected know it or not thats a belief i have and also it is found in many religions they took it because nothing could explain it i believe

Ive experienced the siphon effect but in a non suicidal situation. All the blood or oxygen quickly drained out of my head and I fainted. Didn't realise I'd fainted until I woke up to my friend slapping my face. It was very peaceful. Like I said didn't even realise I'd fainted. I like to believe that death will be as peaceful as that

Haha. Scared shitless but I want that so bad. Forever is a longtime but then if I die naturally I'll have to find out what happens in like 30-40ish years time anyway. I'll be amazed if my body makes it to 70. Would be great if you could ctb as quick as clicking your fingers!

I died for 4 minutes during an attempt. There was nothing. Only darkness and my awareness of the darkness. Had I had more time, maybe I could have more information for you. It really put me on a path of Gnosticism, because I was a devout Christian beforehand and I wasnt sent to heaven or hell. I asked pastors and preachers about why I didnt get to experience heaven, when serial killers can have an experienced death and revival and get to claim they saw heaven. "You arent devout enough. " I realized its either a huge copycat lie to make us all feel better, or its nothingness. Now Ive dug deeper and confirmed that religion is born through evolution, not through a deity's intervention. (Its a deep topic.)

It sucks, I wish I had a better answer than that. But peaceful darkness is okay by me.

thats pretty cool best comment so far
you know in advaita Khrisnamurti was having a speech in front of people about killers and this kind of lost soul and amazingly him and others on were suggesting that these people attain enlightenment, like a woman on deathrow in an eckart tolles story who apparently got enlightened before her execution
they somehow drop ego because of the pain it produces but trauma and other forms of suffering are simillar so the most unlucky of us will enherit heaven in various spiritual teachers views

Isn't an awareness of darkness, still awareness? I don't know what happens when we die. Logic says nothing but even scientists admit the universe is highly illogical in how it exists and what it actually is. I don't believe in a God but I don't think that a belief in the afterlife should be handcuffed to the belief in the existence of a cruel, narcissistic deity. I believe in science, and science says energy never dies, so some part of us must continue to exist in one form or another.

This world is way more complicated than our minds can comprehend, death is not a survey with 2 options to choose from- and its probably not nothingness.
Also, read about the kirilan effect, einstein understanding of how time works and what the kabbalah has to say about what happens when we die.

I want to emphasize that i'm not talking about religion or a god above, and the truth of what happens when we die might be way way way worse than you can imagine. Saying there is nothing after we die is so basic and narrow minded. I mean come on, do you really think its either heaven/hell or nothingness? Pff you dont know nature

what was your awareness of the darkness like?

I compare it to being awake in a totally dark and quiet house. Soundless. I wasnt aware of a body, or time, but just existing. Like I knew I was looking at empty blackness. Wish I had more time wherever I was, because maybe I could have willed whatever existed there to move me. I dont know.

No.. its not... first of all, yeah i remember i dream all the time. Second of all a lack of memory doesnt mean nothing had happen.

Uh? Science know nothing about being dead, nothingness is not scientifically true.

Them reviving me was an experience though. I remember nothing, and then voices and light sharply popped in. I couldnt see anything but white for 3 days. Dunno if it was just my bodies reaction to the drug overdose and I whited out, or what. I still dont know what I did physically during those 3 days. Just remember bits and pieces of voices and medical tests.

By all religions, suicide is murder and its the worst kind of murder (yeap, worst than serial killers).. your experience is weird, was it clinical death? VF? What happened to you?
Btw, Christianity is just a failed, scary and judgemental copy of judaism.

Just so you know, people who were medicated as they were revived usually dont remember anything..

Clinically dead for 3 minutes and 58 seconds, yes.

I overdosed on a drug cocktail, was found unresponsive, I died near the hospital in the ambulance and was revived in the lobby on my way being wheeled inside.

Edit: Even in the bible contains mentions of suicides that didnt end in hell.

And that is exactly what science cant explain because technically if the body is dead thats IT but then awareness on blackness and void exists so something was there when the body died !

I theorize you just live the same life over again. Except it maybe slightly different in some ways. Basically the multiverse theory except you might get a better or worse life from whatever is slightly different.

Unresponsive and VF'd while medicated lowers the chances of the classic "near death experience",even if there is a god what you went through has nothing to do with not being devout. Is that the reason you left christianity?
Were you aware while being unresponsive?Did you feel any pain? Is there a slight chance the darkness was you being unresponsive and not you being dead?
Sorry if its too much questions.

"Edit: Even in the bible contains mentions of suicides that didnt end in hell."
Barely, and it depends on many factors.

I took the drugs, faded out. I dreamt a little and then I felt pulled out of the dream. Then awareness of nothingness, followed by the white and voices of family. The dream I experienced was very unique, I doubt I went inceptiony into another dream.

I left religion as a whole when it stopped offering me solutions other than to pray on it/to continue believing.
