Do you think this is inspiring, or pro-life propaganda?

I used to go along with the storyline of "every suicidal person regrets when they make the leap", etc, but the other side is literally never presented: those who regret having survived. Now I feel that these people might be exploiting their misery, in some way.

I guess it stands to reason that ppl who survive tend to be super thankful and may want to spread their story. People who regret surviving may be in an even worse place than before and may not want to talk about or relive their experience.

I mean, picture the TED Talk:

"Im Bob, I fell 1300 feet and lived, and Im here to tell you life sucks and pick a higher building."

I think it's fine for him to share his story. Some people need to hear it. 100% of suicidal people dont need to kill themselves for our movement toward death with dignity to continue. We need to find a balance. We can't deny people the chance to say hey, think twice. For most of us though we've thought once, twice, hundreds of times over the years. For some its done.

Clearly, it is so important for people to know for some people it is absolutely time to go. We dont have a lot public speakers on that side, at all. Hopefully that continues to be discussed more and more as well.

As long as he doesn't prevent anyone from CTB, he can do whatever he want for all I care.

And I just want to say that I've never understood people who survive an attempt and are thankful for it.

I think those people are often impulsive and havent thought it through so survival forces a reevaluation.

Tbh they are doing people a favor. I try to talk many ppl on here out of it bc when you are down in a hole its hard to see your worth. Sometimes you can tell someone isnt really ready to die but is at the end of their rope so to speak and needs a friend.

I occasionally try to do the same thing, as do many, many posters here. It's always a personal call, from your heart, always a case-by-case basis.

The thing is that even though for the most part this is a cool, non-judgemental forum, some take it on themselves to judge you for trying to help! You're this or you're that, you shouldn't say that, etc., on and on.

I've heard from numerous folks that in many cases they just know, deep down, that the person isn't ready to die and they want to help, but they're afraid of being attacked. It's a real problem, don't know the answer.
