Hi All,
I will take a large plastic bag and place it over my head, securing it with an elastic band. Holding the neck of the plastic bag open so that I can breathe, I will take 100mg Benadryl. Continuing to hold the neck of the bag open, I will wait until I lose consciousness, whereupon the bag will come to rest against my neck, preventing me from breathing in fresh air. After about 20 minutes, the supply of air in the bag will run out, and CO2 will build up to the point where the air in the bag becomes toxic. However, the Benadryl will prevent the build up of CO2 from triggering the hypercapnic response. 10 minutes later, I will die as a result of the combination of hypoxia and CO2 poisoning. I feel confident that this method will succeed, even if it takes a couple of failed attempts to get it right. There is evidence that hundreds of people CTB this way every year, and in many cases using a sedative no stronger than Benadryl. (See my previous post for more info).
If I am right about all this, I think this may be an ideal method for many people, potentially even better than SN.
