I dont know enough of his takes to have a cohesive opinion of him, but I saw this antinatalism take 3 years ago and i still remember how shitty it was. Especially when it was in response to a PATIENT of his. Obv he didnt tell her his thoughts here, but he's gotta give a better attempt at understanding and critical thinking, cuz his internalization might show on the outside in some way. Rewind to 0:50 to go to the very start of the patient story.

He sounds like he's constantly doing a shitty impression of Kermit the frog, lol.
Yeah theres alot of memes about that

I don't like him or his ideas as a whole. He uses his education to lend credence to his thoughts on topics beyond his expertise.

Man goes on about cultural marxists, but when asked in a debate to name some he could think of none. Goes on to admit he's not even read any Marx beyond a pamphlet during his youth.

At best someone who means well but is pushing an agenda on the side.
At worst someone who is using certain demographics of desperate people for personal and political gain.

To add to the above comment his definition(s) of who counts as a marxist are broad enough to encompass like 1/3 of the population. His own conservative views are just barely within the overton window in the US and well outside of it in Canada. He also has a bad habit of going on long rants using intentionally obscure words without conveying any additional information. He takes first place amongst American/Canadian political commentators for most filler words per sentence and most annoyingly offtopic turns per conversation.

My hot take: JBP is someone who has suffered immensely throughout his life and has been shaped by those struggles. Everytime I look in his eyes I see suffering and I honestly just want to give the man a hug. None of that is to say that I agree with his views, although he does have some valuable things to say on topics within his own wheelhouse, and he has probably helped thousands of people lift themselves out of their suffering. For that alone his presence in the public sphere has most likely been a net good. But he has become so hyperfocused on imagined "cultural Marxists" hellbent on destroying Western civilization that he's lost sight of everything else, and has devolved into an angry, hateful, spiteful human being. Nonetheless, he will always have my goodwill.

Jordan Peterson is compromised by emotional trauma and insecurities and the things he says are not any path toward mental tranquility or peace. What kind of tranquil person lives in controversy? Is your goal to be controversial? If so, you fit in fine on Earth lmfao jkjkjk.

He's NOT FOR ME that's what I can say lol

He looks haunted and dead inside. There's no light in his eyes

I just watched this. Isn't it kind of true though? Unfortunately, I lack conscientiousness. I just don't want to put in the hard work

His voice literally makes me sick. He sounds like a dying duck

I know.... I initially came across some interesting short clips of him being a Knight and Martyr for incels and I kind of felt for him; and he talked about a patient of his for like 10yrs or something and he was so sympathetic? So I was so confused... and I know he's aged but I thought he was maybe Irish or from some EU country .... I guess I don't know Canadians at all lol😂 I'm usually decent at guessing accents. Weird that I haven't come across any mention of incels, because he's like portrayed as a crusader for them. But now seeing these vids I'm like no, you're just a Sister Mary Fake...😒 But at least he's not a sociopath.

I don't know enough about him (yet) to have an informed opinion. His position on religion seems pretty ridiculous though.

There's this clip of him on Piers Morgan, where he's asked about being perceived as some kind of incel hero, and he gets emotional and says that he thought the marginalised were supposed to have a voice. I'm sure implying incels are marginalised is a contentious thing to do but I felt for him there too tbh. I think he probably has helped a lot of people. Though somehow I doubt actual incels are fans of his ideas.

I think I actually saw that... He was making me a little emotional because he tried to humanize them, and it was kind, yet still controversial. I didn't know who this guy was, but I could tell he leaned conservatively, how much I didn't know, but I was like, "You're talking about this monstrous incel culture with pissing me off? Hm. Why am I not certain that I dislike you yet?" Maybe he's just odd and pretentious, arrogant and misguided, but well-meaning.

He's associated with young single men in general, idk where the "incel" association came from. A lot of his "helpful" content is targeted towards NEETs, that's where you get the famous "clean your room" line and everything.

Lol about the accent, I'm Canadian and from the same province as him so I immediately recognized it.

The Canadian accent sounds kind of Scottish to me. Especially how they say "about"

Well he was talking about the psychology of why these young men can't get girls or whatever etc and he referred to them as 'incels' because that's the familiar term and he was defending them. Shows how well I know of him. I've never heard any "clean your room" associated with him. Don't know how he popped up on my clips.

Yeah I mean, I had a crush on Austin Powers and Ace Ventura when I was a kid but... I didn't find out they were Canadian until years later. Now a bunch of people I like turn out to be Canadian. We're a little biased against Canadians, and I just feel a little deceived and betrayed now😔

Probably why Austin Powers can do such a decent Scottish accent.

I also thought Peterson could be Scottish or Welsh :/

Canadians sound like they're playing earlier century character from a play in theater🙄 A little pretentious.

I've watched a few of his videos on depression and advice to young men. He speaks to me in a way but he has no advice for autistic/disabled men like myself, he must have helped people though.
